While I scoffed at the electric pruner as someone with access to a mini chainsaw/polesaw and a recip saw, my cheap sunjoe equivalent has become my go to tool for pruning. It's quick, easy, extremely battery efficient, powerful, safe, and most importantly from what I have read it is the best cut for the health of the plant relative to recip/chainsaw competition. I imagine this Dewalt is much nicer than my Sunjoe.

I bought this from Woot on a prior deal. This makes quick work out of pruning at this time of year. I have fallen tree branches, bushes (like Hydrangeas and roses) and woody evergreens that need pruning. This tool makes quick work so I can get the debris ready for pickup. I use a smaller 2ah battery to keep the weight low and you can make many cuts without stopping.

It is a powerful, unforgiving tool. Be mindful of where your hands and fingers are when you reach in to cut. It can easily cut branches up to about an inch in diameter (probably even larger, but I don't want to overstate its cutting ability) depending on the wood and how dry it is.

Tool resets quickly and you can just keep cutting without slowing down waiting for it to reset.

Highly recommend. This is a great tool. Again, watch the hands and fingers. I would not let inattentive people use this.

Only negative from my experience buying with Woot was that it shipped in the Dewalt box, without outside packaging. So the box arrived scuffed and a little beat up, but the tool was well protected in the Dewalt box.

Works great and very useful for taller limbs to cut with one hand reaching outstretched. These are as dangerous as running with a pair of scissors or knife.
I've cut around 200 limbs 1-1/4 or less and blades are holding up fine...replacement blade run about $30 btw.

I've seen it for $80 but not frequently more.Typically it is around $99 so this is a very good price.

I have 3 acres of wooded property and this comes in very handy for taking on saplings in the spring, trimming down fallen trees before pulling out the chainsaw. We'll cut through 1 in diameter wet pretty easily and thicker dry wood. Can be used for bigger branches but you'll have to take a couple cuts at it and it does reset quickly.

Does not require more than 2ah battery typically, and anything over 4ah is overkill.

I decided to give this little guy a try last time it popped up on Slickdeals. How I ever lived without it is nuts. What usually required longer loppers, this thing melted through. Careful though, may lose a finger lol

Safe? This thing looks like a useful part of a narco enforcer's torture toolset.

I love this tool...from a distance. I don't trust myself around it. All it takes is a second of distraction.

I think this tool is for the guys who have reasonable accommodations due to frequency of use. I think carpal tunnel is a big problem with those guys
