Blade tenderizing is a process where a machine with needles punctures meat to break down connective tissue, making it more tender. This practice can push surface bacteria, like E. coli, into the center of the meat, so it should be cooked to a minimum internal temperature of

Raleys is not selling USDA Prime ribeye for $7/lb that I'm aware of. Raleys mostly deals in lesser Choice, Select, or ungraded beef for their specials. Not the same.

Online says Raleys is $27.99 for Prime Ribeye - IF your store has that grade, AND it's bone in, not boneless:

It depends on how big of a pack you get at Costco for how much of a discount it works out to be, but assuming that you get a $250 pack (I think the smallest size) with the discount it works out to about $14/lb - HALF Raley's Prime bone-in price.

I don't know how you guys are getting $19.99 per pound. Here at the Huntington Beach Costco, the Prime Rib-eyes are $29 per pound, and that's with all the caps cut off (you don't get any). The beef here at this Costco is so much more expensive than at all the other Costcos in the US.

I think you are looking at the Rib Eye steaks (item 12234). This is for the vacuum sealed whole roast (item 34326) which is $19.99 /lb. The version in steak form (with the cap) is $25.99 (item 34323). You can see this on the Costco app for the Huntington Beach warehouse.

I got a 16lb package on long island, ny. After $75 off discount, came out to be $15.30/lb. Regular presliced 3 piece package was $25/lb.

I just use a very sharp 12" knife. I hone the blade edge before I start to maximize cutting power, then cut each into approx 1" steaks and vacuum seal them so they last the longest in the freezer without freezer burn. I cut excess fat off if the fat cap is very thick, but I don't trim all the external fat off - you want the ribeye to have a bit of fat.

Assuming a whole package of beef is 10 lbs. The price ($19.99/lb)will be $200-$75=$125 that is $12.5/lb. Is it cheap?

Yes, it's the same cut as a prime rib roast without the bones. In fact, Costco mostly sells boneless prime rib roasts, which I assume are cut from pieces like this.

Just note that in large cuts of ribeye like this, one end has more ribeye cap than the other end, which has very little.

19.99/lb here in Oklahoma. 344 before the 75 dollar discount. 269 for 17.17 lbs equals about 15.60 per lb. Good deal

I saw the deal in store the other day and most packs were $350 - $450 dollars. I believe it's 19.99 a lb. I didn't look real close because that's not really in my budget. The messed up thing is that the price with the discount... if you can get it down to 15 dollars a lb is what the prime boneless steaks were selling for not that long ago in my area. Beef prices have increased massively.

Since Costco started taking EBT anyone else notice the return lines doubled in length like a Walmart and the prices skyrocketed for everything?

Is Sam's club the same way now too? Thinking of switching.
