Beefy drill. It's the best DeWalt has done in a few years. I use it daily for work. A little heavier than the last XR but worth it for the performance. The LED lights are great as well.

I agree, it definitely feels heavier than the DCF850 (but better performance). It's also quite a bit heavier bare tool than a Milwaukee 2953 (Gen4). However, if you use the 860 with a 1.7 Ah POWERSTACK, it is lighter than the Milwaukee using a CP3.0 Ah HO. Even with a 3.5Ah POWERSTACK (which would be a better comparison but I haven't actually tried) it closes most of the weight gap.

Personally, I don't think those batteries and charger are worth an additional $85, but each to there own.

If you wanted to hack the HD deal and return the battery kit, you would end up paying about $10 less than this deal for the impact driver. A lot of people don't feel like the hassle (or perceived ethics) of a hack are worth it but, again, each to their own.

I don't have any Dewalt batteries. Can you link to less expensive batteries please?

I think it has to have been close to ten years ago I purchased this and the hammer drill combo and I let the smoke out of the impact and have been waiting to repurchase. I have plenty of batteries from other deals so happy to get just the bare tool
