You could've got this configuration when the m4 air launched..micro center had it for 1189$ and bestbuy price matched it

None of these prices are special or really a sale. What happens is the price rises to full retail. Then on these various cycles they drop it a bit and several retailers have the same offer. The best deals on the 13 and 15 are the base models because the ridiculous upcharge to 512. No rush here now.
