I recently picked up this case at NewEgg on sale for $69 (in white). It's been a lot more expensive than that until this Christmas shopping season. The white one included "2x Pre-installed RX120 RGB fans and iCUE LINK System Hub", making it a much better deal, but it's sold out now. https://www.newegg.com/corsair-mi...6811139211

Until this week, you could also get it in gorgeous real bamboo (!!!) but without the iCUE LINK and fans.
Back connect is a clear waste of space, and a revision of the microATX model is definitely not needed. Overeager engineers remaking the wheel.
My Thermaltake Z21 is a superior case, has a separate power supply area in the bottom. Sucks they don't sell them anymore.

The back connect does use more space, but it does so for a reason: Looks. Come on, if people want to dress up their machines with LEDs and glass and what not, why not at least help them hide the ugly cables? Personally, I'm looking forward to back connect builds because I hate having to bring the cables around from under the motherboard to the front, trying to poke them through and then bend them over to get plugged in. So in a way, it's just taking that second compartment you're talking about at the bottom of the Thermaltake, and sticking it behind the motherboard instead.
As for the glass shattering, well, let's hope it doesn't. Obviously, aluminum would be better, because it sheds heat better than glass, and even better than steel for that matter. Remember the old all-aluminum Lian Li cases? Those things were amazing. But if you want to show off all those pretty LEDs that you paid extra for, etc. etc., then the glass has an actual purpose. And if it gets more kids interested in building computers, then I think it's great.
