If you are a side sleeper, pretty much anything outside of the ear canal will be iffy.

I have only ever attempted the previous model which this claims to be more comfortable than, and it was not quite comfortable enough for me to fall asleep with the pillow-side earbud in most of the time.

Curious to try because I like the idea and the previous model felt like it almost had what I'd need, but almost $200 is still a bit too steep for me to be finding out.

I have these (got them from kickstarter before general release). They're only ok for the price. To answer the question above: these are easy to sleep in, I'm a side sleeper. What I bought them originally for was the sound masking. The kickstarter campaign touted they had an advanced method of detecting whatever ambient noise you were hearing in the room and it would rhythmically try to cancel it out. Well, the offering is basically just slightly better than white noise. Other than that, it's essentially ear buds that have a semi-decent app and sound selection to choose from. I wouldn't spend that kind of cash again though.

Same here, side sleeper, A20s are my current go to sleep buds, they are so good even bought a back up pair on a fire sale. Have heard 50/50 on whether A20 and A30 are comfortable for some people, it might work, might not. Might chance the A30s once they get closer to $100.
