11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

Edit: Sounds like it's total spend of $1250, but can be spread across multiple purchases. Still pretty darned great!
I couldn't seem to get it to show PayPal pay later, guessing it's not allowed on federal tax processors, but let me know if you figure a workaround.

Make sure Paypal isn't saved to your Walmart account at all. Go to your account and remove it as a payment option. Then as you're checking out select Paypal and it will ask you to login and confirm how you want to pay. Pay in 4 will be there. Apply for it and hit continue. You won't get a confirmation until you submit the order (it will say it's for the full amount) but then you will get an email from PayPal confirming your payment plan.
I had it linked at first and stupidly thought there would be another page where I could select Pay-in-4, instead it submitted the entire order instantly
