Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Do "online shopping" cash back cards like Amex Blue Cash Everyday and BoA Cash rewards still give 3% when used this way? They do when using them through normal paypal payments.
that is what i tried, since the boa online shopping i have has bonus %, so if it does it would be extra 3%+ Stick Out Tongue hoping it ends up working since i found a post from a few years ago saying the their blue cash everyday 3% coded cashback for a paypal pay in 4 payment

I am up to my 3rd transaction.
First one was $1250 plan is still active. Had $900 remaining for pay later it said. Did another transaction for $900.
Paid the 900 in full with an amex after it posted. It took about 3-4 hrs for it to show that i had usable pay later available. It said $600, but I tried a higher amount of $1150 to see if it would go through and it was approved.
So I have 3 separate transactions so far (2 pending showing points totals and latest hasnt "shipped" yet so not showing the point value). Tapping out at this point.

Anyone get their points despite seeing this at the bottom of the email Paypal sends after you make a Pay in 4 purchase?

Email starts with "You paid $xxx.xx USD to [store name]"?
Then Transaction ID and Transaction Date

so for what you described you are now number one as far as optimizing on capitalizing on this deal with well over $3,000 in total spread out over three successful transactions. up until now the most I've heard is $2,000 over two transactions, and then anyone making more than two transactions is usually cut down on the third transaction so you our number one on both accounts so far. congratulations and have a great holiday. I hope PayPal makes good and gives you all the points you deserve.

I didn't do a trade in so I am unsure. I'm assuming it would just take back partial points after the trade in value it deducted
This is what I wanted to know as well lol. Thinking about trading in, and doing this deal, but not sure how it would work with a trade in. I think you're right about the taking back some points, but not sure about the amount of the payment. I'm assuming it should adjust?

It doesn't look like there is a limit (outside of your credit limit). The ToS says up to $1250 so theoretically you can make multiple purchases and limitless 20% off?
Seems like they limit you to 1-2 pay4 plans. At least for me once I did 2 orders, the pay4 option stoppped appearing.

same here.
I figured it out, thanks to a post here. I went to Payments in my eBay account and removed PayPal from there (also removed Venmo just in case). Then tried to check out and selected PayPal, clicked the button to check out via PayPal, then was presented with pay in full or use pay in 4 or pay monthly. I chose Pay in 4 and then it asked for some info and worked fine, points showed pending immediately.
