Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

So how do you use a credit card for the pay in 4. Does that mean it you pay with your credit card or do you have set up payments with your bank account? Ok I found my answer.

When you use PayPal Pay in 4 with a credit card, the first payment is made at checkout, and the remaining three payments will be automatically charged to the same credit card every two weeks. Some specific credit cards, like Capital One and Chase, may not be accepted for automatic payments. You can also make extra payments or pay off the balance manually at any time through the PayPal app or website, using either your PayPal balance or another linked payment method.
Chase doesn't work for me when I try pay-in-4, so I think you are right. Where did you see that about Capitol one and Chase btw?

Anyone know why Pay in 4 disappeared for me after I backed out of a purchase after being approved? I called Paypal and had them cancel the pending pay in 4 transaction on their side, but the option to use Pay in 4 is still not showing up for me on Walmart when I try to pay using Paypal. It only gives me the option to pay in full, pay monthly, or use paypal credit.

The Paypal rep who canceled the pending transaction on the PPal side said it takes 72 hours for the PPal system to update. Could that be the cause? Seems odd that the Pay in 4 option just disappears like that. Can you only use it once per merchant?

Happy to report that Apple.com order of Iphone went through with pay in 4. I was pre-approved, and I unfroze my credit. Points are pending, which I think will go through once I pick up the phone. Now only trick is that If I do trade-in in store, will it screw up anything on Paypal side. Decisions decisions.
Do you actually see the points value or a generic points pending message?

so at checkout we select Paypal Credit and apply for that for the pay later option?
Yes. Select PayPal Credit and then go thru the process of applying for credit with PalPal. You will have to unfreeze your credit report with TransUnion before it will be approved. Once you are approved, you can then select Pay in 4.

You can spend as much as you want and in as many purchases as you want, but rewards is capped at $250 for this promotion which is 20% of $1250.
Isnt it say $1250 per transaction? Say I have been approved for $2500 limit, so I can I do $1000 times 2, and $500 times 1?

It doesn't say per account, it said 20% is capped per transaction upto $1250. Is that correct?

Stack with rebates and portals.
This is what I have done today at Discount Tire, which has online PP button for payment. Went smoothly and shows up already as pending reward. Only forgot that there are cashback options 3% for DT and clicked autopay x 4 from checking account, when I need to spend $$ on a new Amex card.

I added the offer to my account on the desktop. It shows as saved with a green checkmark on the page with the terms and conditions. However, in the app on my phone, when I click on 'saved offers' it isn't there. There is an advertisement banner for 20% cashback, but the offer itself isn't saved. Anyone else experience this? About to pull the trigger and I could really use $250 back. Thanks!

Need some help if anyone has any ideas.
I was able to use pay in 4 successfully twice yesterday. It showed up again today and I tried to use it again but with a different credit card.

It seems like it needed to do the credit approval thing again and gave me some weird errors and pay in 4 has disappeared. Any ideas how to get this fixed?

2 questions (TIA for answering):
  1. Can I pay for something on Ebay (Pay in 4 is not available but Paypal credit is)
  2. Given a clause below is there any way to avoid hard credit pull when applying for this?

    PayPal Credit
Buy now and pay over time.
Apply today with no impact to your credit score if declined. If approved, you can shop with PayPal Credit anywhere PayPal is accepted.
An approved PayPal Credit application will result in a hard credit inquiry, which may impact your credit score. Subject to credit approval.
