Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

How does one check the spending power in the app?
Click on pay later and a dollar amount should appear at the very top. If not, it's currently 0$.

the only way I saw it was try to buy something from b&h for like 3K and when checkout with paypal you'll see paypal show limits and why can't use pay in4 since this excedes limit
I tried to make a $48 purchase and it was denied. The reason provided was "Total amount of recently approved PayPal Pay in 4 loans." I've made two prior purchases both totaling less than $300. I remember when I first applied for the pay in 4, it showed a limit of $1500. For the last purchased, I accidentally backed out of completing the purchase. I am not sure if that was the reason for the denial. I still see the offer in my account.

It's showing 0 for current balance. I paid off two prior purchases last night.

So when you click the Pay Later box in the app, at the top with be a black bar with "$XXXX Pay Later spending power" in it. If there's no black box and number, you have $0 spending power.

If you just paid off the balances the night before, try again every hour to see if it appears.

another datapoint, two separate transactions the first earned 22500 points from $1125 in spend, the second earned only 2500 points from $350 spend

seems to confirm its capped at $250 per account, despite the confusing offer language
I made a $950~ purchase on the 19th and then an $1,100 purchase today using "pay in 4" for each, and both of them show points as pending for the correct amount of 20%. So maybe the cap is $250/day or something like that?

Not sure if it's helpful to anyone, but just checked my BOA customized cash rewards card and paypal pay in 4 does register as an online purchase. Even better if you maxed out preferred rewards and get 5%+ back.

Not sure if it'd register though for merchant specific bonuses say on Amex/Captial One, etc as it doesn't mention the merchant. YMMV there.

I do not see a pay later box in the app, but do see it under shop and save. After clicking that, it only shows info regarding the pay in 4.

When I say box, I mean the big white square that says Pay Later and shows your current balance. If you click on that and there's no black bar at the top, you have currently $0 spending power.

So if I want to buy something for more than $1500 (what it shows in pay later buying power) it won't work? I wanted to buy a tv and it would be over that limit.

Right, that's the case for me, want an LG tv but it's 1530+tax. Wish I could split payment somehow but can't at retailer I'm looking at.
