my DP:
I have made 2 "Pay in 4 purchases" almost every day since the start. After 2, they block you from making any more for at least another 24 hours. However, its been over 24 hours since my last pay in 4, and I no longer see the option upon checkout. My friend, who has made multiple Pay in 4 purchases each day, tried to use it today and actually got denied:

This notice is in response to your recent request for a PayPal Pay in 4 installment loan. Our records show that you requested to open a loan on 11/23/2025.
We regret that we are unable to approve your request at this time for the following reason:
Number of recent applications submitted.

Seems they have set up more strict requirements and blocking people who have opened multiple pay in 4 purchases

For me, after three total they reduced my spending power down to $200 after denying my fourth application.

My first payment already under pending, but my paypal account still shows this payment plan hasn't started yet.
You have to wait like I did and wait for whatever payment method you used to actually be posted or debited.

Successful ones should show the number of points.

The ones of mine that were canceled by Walmart right away were left saying pending (until 72 hours apparently) with no points shows. The others that were Pay in 4 showed the number of points pretty quickly.

Thats not what I meant. I made a purchase and used my Amex card . On my AMEX statement it shows Paypal BNPL . The first charge is pending on Amex. If it does not mention the merchants name when it posts I am going to have to figure out if I can cancel because I wont get AMEX benefit.

Go into the app, click on the white square that says Pay Later, and look at the top of the screen. If there's nothing, you have $0 spending power. Otherwise there'll be a black bar with an amount.

It shows PayPal once posted. Not the merchant.

Mine got denied due to payment method after attempting to link a Freedom card and Pay in 4 option disappeared. Luckily, when I tried purchasing the item again the option showed up and was able to link a different card. Really wish I could've linked the Freedom card since it offers 5% cb in the month of Dec

Yeah, that sucks. WIll cancel. Say merchant is Walmart for example, normal Paypal purchases show - Paypal - Walmart or something like that but the merchants name is in the transaction on the CC statement

Evidently having a business acct won't allow you in on this deal. I had my acct downgraded to personal and I see this deal in my Rewards but now all I see is Pay in 3. lol Why can't I have PAY in 4 like everyone else?

I'm not giving up. I even put my primary payment from Chase to my bank instead and that didn't help either.

Is there a minimum you have to have in your cart? I tried over $200 and that isn't triggering it for me either.

Just tried Target with a 320.00 order. It actually stated in Paypal that Pay in 4 wasn't available. How do we know where we can use this? Is it just hit or miss with everyone? Some stores will work for some. We just have to keep trying each store that accepts Paypal? This is crazy.
