Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

My wife went through the PayPal link to purchase on Staples.com and chose Pay in 4. Last step took forever and kept spinning. She can see Pay in 4 is pending in her PayPal account, bank account also shows 25% of the charge. However, the item purchased on Staples is still in cart and never showed up in the purchased history no email confirmation. Anyone knows what happened?

I don't see a "Pay later" payment option in Paypal.

Anyone can share a screenshot?

Thanks,

To clarify, you maxed out the $250 back on your first transaction. And now you were able to max it out again on a second transaction? Someone earlier said he made multiple small transactions and his final one, he only got the difference up to the $250 limit. I wonder if you hav to hit that max first before it resets
That $250 rewards limit is PER TRANSACTION.

This is the part of the terms that scare me. How would you know?

(4) purchases made at a merchant who enrolled in Pay Later within 30 days prior to the start of the promotion

I had this issue with a eBay purchase... I just closed the window and re-tried check out and it worked the second time. Of course, now it gets real as I wait to see if the points show up or not.

This is what I thought too but someone said their last transaction didn't give him the 20% but rather only the difference up to $250 which is why I wasn't sure.

Do you think the first order will go through? Placing a second order now? What if the first one go through later since it is still pending in the PayPal but no order confirmation from Staples. Not sure what to do now?

If they purchased something over $1250, then they would only get 20% rewards on $1250, and not the difference. Pay in 4 has a limit of $1500, then you have Pay Monthly, so that's where you can get into purchases that are over the $1250 transaction cap for 20% rewards. So, I suspect that's what happened.

Okay. I have my bank account attached to the PayPal but do not have any CC attached to it.

I do see Pay in 4 and says Preapproved in the Pay Later section. Would that work?

And can I use a Cashback Site to do the purchase? Thanks!!!
Cashback sounds sketchy, but paying with bank account is an option. I had one linked to PayPal along with a Chase card, but only the bank was showing as a payment option when using Paypal Pay later options. So I added Discover, but the bank was an option.

What they said was something like they got 20% back on a $1,000 purchase. Then made a $500 purchase and only got $50 back instead of $100.

You mentioned pay monthly. What does that have to do with anything? I'm curious because I've only been using pay in 4.
