11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

I actually read it myself and figured it out. I used some paid AI LLMs afterwards to confirm. Then someone else spoke to two people at PayPal to confirm as well. Then we have had multiple people confirm getting more than $250 in pending points tagged on 20% deal. This reminds of a story about leading a horse to water. lol

Bottom line is that the T&C's can be interpreted many different ways. LLMs don't have the answer, and clueless outsourced CSR's don't have the answer either (not to mention you are cherry picking their responses, lol). Pending points are also meaningless, since they aren't even capping those as $1250 per purchase.
Just stop acting like it's a sure thing - it's far from it and it's best if folks understand this.

That's what happened to me, and the pending ones disappeared from my activity, but even then, it still shows them in my active plans (see attached), and I can't use Pay later (if the tab shows, it says not available).
The points will be pending for up to 90 days after the purchase, maybe even after you finish paying them off. Then you will get your rewards dollars.
