Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

I don't know what you mean by "hit the account".The points will be pending for up to 90 days after the purchase, maybe even after you finish paying them off. Then you will get your rewards dollars.
Pending points, showing on multiple transactions, for total transactions above the 1250 threshold, doesn't verify you will get 20 percent back above that threshold.

Did you make a bunch of purchases above that, and have wishful thinking, or do you work for them?

Paypal won't care, they'll only hold the points as pending to account for returns.

Someone mentioned before but some states apparently don't have Pay in 4 (guessing due to state laws) but monthly should work since both are mentioned in the terms. Note that pay month CHARGES INTEREST vs Pay in 4 does not.
https://www.paypal.com/us/campaig...ffer-terms
For now, Missouri and Nevada seems to be the only states according to Paypal:

"Pay in 4 is available to consumers upon approval for purchases of $30 to $1,500. Pay in 4 is currently not available to residents of MO. Offer availability depends on the merchant and also may not be available for certain recurring, subscription services. When applying, a soft credit check may be needed, but will not affect your credit score. You must be 18 years old or older to apply: PayPal, Inc.: Loans to CA residents are made or arranged pursuant to a CA Financing Law License. GA Installment Lender Licensee, NMLS #910457. RI Small Loan Lender Licensee. NM residents: Find more disclosures related to Pay in 4."

The reason is overregulation:

"PayPal is making a business decision to avoid potential compliance issues and navigate the complexities of Missouri's consumer lending regulations by not offering its payment plans to residents."

None of us have thought of that; would you mind giving it a try and see if it works out? Please report back.

You won't get 20% back above the threshold. I never suggested that. There is a limit (or threshold) per transaction. Not sure what wishful thinking has to do with your misunderstanding of how it works.

Finally got the option on walmart! Now its saying "The card you added can't be used with this plan. Add a card to continue". I added Chase debit, CapitalOne Credit, CitiBank, you name it... Something is major buggy with this pay now buy later.

EDIT: Something about unchecked "save remember my paypal account details" allows for the pay in 4 option to appear but I still cannot checkout as none of my cards can be used with this plan...

Obviously, you have misunderstood my basic post. 1250 looks to be the total threshold amount for any and all transactions. You have zero proof that it is solely based off a per transaction level, and not max overall cap, which any deal of this nature HAS ALWAYS HAD.

I purchased a printer at Office Depot and some glasses at Zenni using the pay-in-4 option. It let me use my Discover to cover the printer, but the glasses have to come out of my checking account. I have a very old Paypal account which may have helped with credit approval.

See the attached screenshot. See if you can find "per transaction" or what you are saying.

How long after I make the purchase does the "points pending" message show up? Wondering because I just made a purchase on eBay and selected the pay in 4 option. The transaction shows up in the transaction list but doesn't say "points pending" like my previous transaction.

I had to link a bank/checking account to have a valid payment method.

How long does it take to actually get the 20% back?

I wanted to start small. So purchase $70 of coffee yesterday on Amazon using Paypal. I had saved the 20% offer and did the monthly. I had to give SSN and other stuff to get approved for the monthly. I then paid it off this morning. So basically a "loan" for about 12 hours.

I now have 1498 point pending. But how long until no longer pending? I do not like the pending aspect as that seems like something they could take away.
I want to be comfortable with how this works before I make any big purchases. I also assume I get $1250 and then my wife will also get $1250 as she has a separate PayPal account?

Also, I assume that there is no problem with me buying something and paying off right away over and over again? Like they will not take away because they are losing money on me?

Thanks in advance for any help!

BTW, I think this is a pretty horrible thing because it is obvious they are trying to pray on people. 33.9% interest is insane and probably should be illegal.. So anyone doing this deal you really need to pay it right away.
