Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Do we get cashback rightaway or after all 4 payments(in about 2 months)?
It appears to be a flat 90 days and not based on when payments are done. As with most cash back, they have a lockup window to ensure you can't cash out rewards and then return the item.

Certainly hope this pans out. Canceled my order for a new TV and placed it with the Pay in 4. Could use that sweet, sweet 20%.

Set limit to $2000.
Bought $900 laptop on eBay with Pay in 4 with no problems.

Tried $250 purchase at REI, and was declined!
When I check out, it's no longer even an option.

Anyone else come across this?
How do you activate rewards for eBay purchases? I spend hundreds on eBay regularly with PayPal and have never received any rewards or offer of any kind (other than to get their 35%APR Credit Card)

I haven't read this whole thread, but just throwing my 2 cents in. Tried to use this at Best Buy (Pay in 4), got denied for "unusual activity". The next day, Pay in 4 was still missing from my checkout options but "Pay Monthly" was still there, which is also eligible. Tried to use that, got all the way through the credit application (and was approved), but when returning to the Best Buy cart, got the same "unusual activity" message.

Now it's 3 days later and both options are still missing. To add, the price of the item I wanted also went up while waiting for these options to appear again.

Even if they show up again, I don't think I'm going to use it. I'm pretty sure Paypal will troll everyone in a few months with "sorry, points budget had already expired for your purchase" notices.
Yeah, I'm also wary to use it if it shows up again. This 20% off has been posted probably on every other deal site and Reddit. 90d later, PayPal could say it ran out of the 1.5B points on the 3rd day and not honor any further CB. You're stuck holding the bag cuz by February 2026, return policies are out of date.

Someone did some calculations and posted a while ago. The amount of available points would be equivalent of $15 million. Sales would have to equate to $75 million dollars. Do you think people spent that much in this thing?

I would think they would just come out and say that they run out of points when they do. They want to promote this Payin4 or whatever, so pulling shenanigans like this will blow back in their faces.

Yeah,I used it multiple times at Walmart.
Do I have to pre-qualify for pay in 4 on with PayPal before it shows up as a payment option on Walmart? Because when I select PayPal as my payment option I only have the option to pay with one of my saved cards/bank or I have PayPal Credit. I don't see Pay in 4 in my Walmart checkout

Am I the only one who the offer doesn't work for? When I go to the page I try to save it, but it doesn't seem to save in my saved offers. My saved offers still says 0. Here's the link: https://www.paypal.com/us/digital...-pay-later
When I go to my rewards page the only featured offers I'm offered are ones I'm not interested in such as "Earn $20 cash back on Ticketmaster" or referring friends to earn points.
Edit: Just tried to save the offer on my phone (instead of desktop) and when I click on save offer it gives me this error: "Failed to save offer." I don't get it. I use Pay in 4 all the time. Never have missed a payment. Why am I ineligible for this offer?

Where do you see the pending points? Will it show in the points balance or does it show up somewhere else first while it's pending? And how quickly after the purchase will it show up?

edit: nevermind. I see it under activity. Sweet!
