Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Great timing because I just got a new Chase Freedom account. Do I need to activate the 5% with Chase like with Discover card every quarter?
Long thread, so maybe already a reply
But Chase cards (Freedom for sure) and even PayPals own Mastercard can not be used for the Pay later promo. I have both and a Best Buy and Macy's order where I used the 4 payment plan were not eligible. I appreciate the 20% rewards but I now don't have the comfort of an extra year of warranty a CC would give me. I had to use a debit card. I believe other CC issuers will work.

It let me use my chase freedom card, though mine is the old one that is a visa and not the newer MasterCard. Not sure if that makes a difference.

When I select PayPal in Walmart's app, I have 2 choices: using my credit card, or applying for PayPal Credit. PayPal 4 Payments never shows up. Do I need to apply for PP Credit?

I have added the offer to my PP account; I can see it as saved on the web page.

Citibank Credit Card and PayPal Credit are my only 2 options...

My Chase Freedom is year 15 years old, and I couldn't add it to Pay in 4.

It let me add Discover though.

However, I just did Pay Monthly for the first time. I tried to add Discover to that, and after going through a few more steps, it said the payment method I added can't be used with this plan. So I used my bank account to complete the Pay Monthly purchase.

Pay Monthly and Pay in 4 disappeared for me days ago, and Pay Monthly just returned today.

Yeah, my Chase is a Visa and I have had it 30 years. Zero idea how it was accepted for you? Only my Bank account. and my debit card tied to it were eligible. When I googled CC exclusions (AI, so take it with a grain of salt) It shows Capital One, Chase and PayPal Mastercard as not eligible. Strange.

Good News!

Hey there, all. Remember my Pay Monthly disappeared on me first, then later Pay in 4. Well, after a few days, Pay Monthly finally returned. So, I put together an order of several things at Walmart and tried to use Pay Monthly. All was looking good, and I added my Discover card, just as I had with Pay in 4 before, and I had to enter my SSN and income, and all was looking good. But right as it looked to be finishing, it gave me the message "the payment method you added cannot be used with this plan". Interesting - it had worked with Pay in 4. Oh well, I switched to my Bank Account, and then it said you're approved, and it has a button for "review order". I clicked on it, and it gave me a 404 webpage error. I switched back to my Walmart tab, and I went ahead and placed order. It completed without error. But I verified my emails and purchase history to confirm it wasn't canceled like when I lost Pay in 4 days ago. Everything looked as it should, and I also confirmed Paypal shows over 15,000 points pending. Yehhhh. Now, I'm not sure when I should pay it off. I'll wait until tomorrow. Then I have some more purchases to make. Big Grin

So, Discover works for Pay in 4, but it wouldn't work with Pay Monthly.

So thank goodness for my linked bank account.

Does pay monthly have the 20% promo? I'm pretty sure that option does accrue interest to the principal.

Of course it accrues interest if you don't pay it off. Like I said, I'll wait until tomorrow. I want to make sure the funds are freed up so I can "borrow" more. lol

As to whether it's in the promo, it's been mentioned often. It's clearly stated in the terms. However, I just got back 20% worth of points pending in my Paypal account using it. See the attached image.

I no longer have the 20% off icon in my PayPal account. Offer is dead, or at least for me. I had two transactions totaling $780.

I see people in some of the laptop threads using this for Best Buy but I don't see Best Buy in my options to pay later.

In the check out process after clicking on PayPal as your payment option pay in 4 should be an option. At least it was for me two days ago for Best Buy. Points are pending for $120. Still haven't figured out if this deal is still working?

It still shows for me under Rewards. And if I open it, I see the attached screenshot.

Shows me too but if I try to checkout, pay in 4 option says unavailable.

The monthly accrues interest right away. I tested with buying $70 of coffee at Walmart and had paid off 12 hours later and had 7 cents of interest. This is very different from most things where there is a grace period until first payment required.
