Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Pay Monthly and then pay off quickly to avoid interest. That's what I did.
Didn't realize there could be interest added to this thing. So make the first payment during checkout, then after how many days should I make the full remaining payment to avoid any fees?

There is not interest with Pay in 4.

Pay Monthly says they don't charge interest until the vendor report partial for full completion of the order. So,if the vendor starts shipping right away, that could be considered partial completion and trigger interest. They say they calculate interest daily. So I decided to pay off the same day I purchased to put the odds in my favor that there would be no interest, and only 1 day at the most.

PayPal is offering 20% cash back on Pay Later purchases made through December 8. From December 9 to December 31, the offer changes to 5% cash back. Using Pay in 4 installments has no interest charges, while Pay Monthly plans do include interest. The promotion applies to eligible Pay Later transactions, with cash back capped per transaction.

Anyone looking at doing this her is my interaction with this.
1. I bought a Dual Sense Edge from Gamestop on Pay Monthly (it showed 14% interest) for a total of $168. If paid off in 3 months it would be $175. After 24 hours it showed that i would be getting 3371 in points and stated it was with 20% back reward. I then paid this off in full, so only 3 days after purchase, and my total was just the original total no interest. So $168 Points are still pending.

2. Second purchase was $2500 of furniture. Again, used the pay monthly. This is showing the 20% promotion but only giving me 25000 points. So i guess the $1250 max purchase does not prorate anything.

3. Third purchase was a U7 Pro Xg from unifi. THIS IS WHERE I HIT A PROBLEM. I assume because i have never used this service before, I got a warning i could not use pay later options because of suspicious activity. And now on my third purchase in 2 days i can no longer use this, i can still use paypal but not the pay monthly.

Conclusion:
Use it for purchases under $1250 and this is a great deal (still getting 5% back, on the one over 1250). Pay it off before the first month, so no interest. IF you can not pay it off in the first few weeks, do not spend the money.

If you want to maximize the offer, a single purchase of $1,250 using Pay in 4 will give you the full $250 cash back without any interest charges.

Does this offer show up in your rewards section when you click to claim it or is it hidden? Just curious if I place an order from Samsung if this is going to actually apply.

I tried putting in a Unifi order this morning with the Pay in 4 option and got the suspicious activity email as well. Now that option is gone and I only have the one for Pay Monthly with interest.

5 days later and my Pay in 4 and Pay Monthly options are still missing after I got an "unusual activity" denial. Been a paypal customer for 25 years and never had an issue. Very frustrating
