Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Truthfully, I'm going to raise a big stink if my purchase does not go through following these term changes because it can not be returned. I made a $600 purchase at 8am ET this morning and it shows my points pending. This is 5.5 hours before this email and the offer and previous terms were still listed in my account. This purchase, with my others, is still under the $1250 from the original terms.

They should have just changed it to limit to $1250 in total purchases, rather than one single. So now you have people who earned over $1000 in rewards and some who only got $10, because of limiting it to one purchase.

That's terrible of PayPal. You can't just change the terms midway.

likely because of all the calls.

Not only that but since all points are pending, they have every right to go back and remove all pending points except the first set.

You're not wrong, I had every chance and I procrastinated on getting a new 3D printer. I did use about $300 of the deal but I definitely had plans for more.

The real crazy deals were if you were able to stack the 20% Paypal bonus with any third-party clickthrough cashback promos on sites. Ali had a few days of 30% cashback on Rak10 so if you were able to stack the 20% Paypal bonus that's like 50% off, assuming you're not paying an inflated "Black Friday" price for whatever cheap Chinese goods you were purchasing.
True. Had several times where Capital One was giving 70% cashback (Columbia, Kate Spade) or even 40% at Walmart. Stacking the Capital One Cashback + Paypal 20% + BoA 5% customized cash some of this stuff was nearly free.

it's 2025 and calls include all types of communications whether it's emails or repeated banging on the system.

so what do you think the reason for them changing the terms?

they knew for sure on day one they were ok with multiple transactions being used to reach the limit. once you get 2 or 3, they would approve further beyond that case by case.

then, all of a sudden they change their mind. why?

some of us have been around long enough to know why these things happen.
