11/26/2025 10:28am PST Update: This is now limited to ONE transaction, with 20% rewards back up to $1,250. Paypal email memo notes that the promotion for spend on multiple transactions prior to the notification will be honored.
Walmart:
1) you have to make sure Paypal is not a saved method of payment in your wallet. If so, go into your account and remove it
2) When you are in checkout, uncheck the box that says Remember Paypal as a payment option.

I'm completed. Hopefully today's transaction holds for 20%. I would lose about $115 if it reverts to 5% and lose roughly $150 if it reverts to 0%.
I quickly logged in to double check my latest purchase, and it does show the pending rewards for it along with my first order from last week.
I hadn't checked this thread since last week so I had no idea people were able to go past the $250 max reward limit.
Or is it limited by some total amount that needs to be reached and you could place many orders?
Making 3 or 4 purchases to reach $1250 was not abuse. Now you can't do that.
Don't be naive, the goal for the change was to put the kibosh on the promo. Yes it will end a lot of abuse but it will also end the effectiveness of the program.
This change destroys the offer and only a fool would think this sweeping change is meant solely for the abuse.
If you want to stop abuse only, change to terms to say "You can only get $250 and not a penny more." That way everybody can reach $250 but now, *no one* going forward will be able to hit that number exactly.

It used to say PER transaction. Now it says ONE transaction. Even if you only spend $50, you're done with ONE.
