Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Here's what the offer screen looks like now, if you have hit your limit.

I'm completed. Hopefully today's transaction holds for 20%. I would lose about $115 if it reverts to 5% and lose roughly $150 if it reverts to 0%.
Hmm mine doesn't say completed but I did use it last night for a small purchase, which was a bummer since if I had known I would have waited and used it for a bigger purchase, I don't know if it's worth the risk to try and buy something today, since I got the email everyone else did

Wow, I just made my second purchase with the deal a couple hours ago after confirming the offer was still valid. Just now got the email about them limiting it to once per account.

I quickly logged in to double check my latest purchase, and it does show the pending rewards for it along with my first order from last week.

I hadn't checked this thread since last week so I had no idea people were able to go past the $250 max reward limit.

I'm about to blow your mind... it still says that right now
Yet they have changed the terms to say one eligible purchase per customer. Half-measures.

The good thing about this limit is that I now see the same offer on my wife's account. Was not able to see or add this offer on my wife's account earlier.

Is this deal limited to one order per account?
Or is it limited by some total amount that needs to be reached and you could place many orders?
One order per account based on the new terms. Max amount is 1250 for that order.

So what changes to the terms were meant to limit the abuse?

Making 3 or 4 purchases to reach $1250 was not abuse. Now you can't do that.

Don't be naive, the goal for the change was to put the kibosh on the promo. Yes it will end a lot of abuse but it will also end the effectiveness of the program.

This change destroys the offer and only a fool would think this sweeping change is meant solely for the abuse.

If you want to stop abuse only, change to terms to say "You can only get $250 and not a penny more." That way everybody can reach $250 but now, *no one* going forward will be able to hit that number exactly.
Uh, maybe the simple sentence that only one transaction now up to $1250? Lol learn to read bro people are abusing it buying gift cards, which is risky to clearly is breaking the terms. Don't be naive or you are simply trolling, which by your posts you probably are doing Kenny boy

Thanks. I got the email too. My 8177 points are pending, one purchase.

I am looking to get one gaming console. Did you get the PS5 slim console that is for $400 ($100 off right now) ? this.

No, the PS5 Slim (w/disc drive) [bestbuy.com] for $449. Needed the disc drive and the ones that included games weren't included in the Paypal promotion when I got mine.

I'd suggest getting the one that's $50. The one you linked doesn't have a disk drives. You can add one later but they cost $80 on their own. If you are only buying digitally, then the one you linked is fine. But you can get better sales, used games, or borrow them from a friend or library with the games on disk.

AI didn't misinterpret. PayPal very clearly says they updated the terms.

It used to say PER transaction. Now it says ONE transaction. Even if you only spend $50, you're done with ONE.
So they didn't just "clarify" the promo, they actually "changed" the promo.

Thanks for posting that!!!! The PayPal update can be read two different ways. I was hoping today's new terms stating one transaction meant my transactions days ago didn't count toward that total, which would make all the difference whether my purchase today would be eligible for 20%. Since you have used it prior to today, and it says saved instead of completed, that tells me for certain that we are good to use it for ONE transaction today despite previous days' purchases. So, I'm feeling confident, I won't lose that $115 to $150. Smilie
