Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Ok. so many comments. I sense that some are believing that this is now a new promotion so everyone gets 1 chance whether you did any prior today? Do we have a definite answer or any data point? I did few transactions on two PP accounts prior to today's new term and received email saying that I have "reached the limit on this offer given our new terms" New terms on original promotion and now we have a new promotion? I see the new promotion on my offer page...
Email clearly states "you've reached the limit". They may walk back later on, or may not have updated the processing so it may still work. At this point, it is a risk.

I started using CC more for CB and got away from the websites. I used to use those more like 15 years ago around the time of Bing cashback, but they usually said you couldn't stack, and I didn't want to risk it for purchases I didn't really care about. Might look into it again.
CC cashback stacks fine with these referral site cash backs. Never any issue as they don't "talk" to each other or care.

In fact with this offer if you have a CC that works and has cash back, you can get 20% paypal cash back, 13% site cash back, plus 1% CC cash back (or more depending on the CC).

Other times I've used a CB site to get rewards on the gift card, then used the site's regular CB link to get rewards on the purchase paid with gift card (not all sites support this, some do not pay cash back on redemption of gift cards, but often I find they work anyway).

Most credit cards have their own cash back portals which will stack with their own "regular" rewards too.

Though with the legislation being proposed, I suspect cash back credit cards will soon be a thing of the past, or at least not worth using.

Ok, I got the Paypal email, too. Says I'm done.

I got close but didn't hit the limit. Says my prior purchases are ok. Maybe I can try one more time.

Sucks for everyone else waiting for today and for BF to get the best deals; not going to be easy to make a $1250 purchase today.
you read it wrong previous terms ends today and new term starts tomorrow. Everyone have a chance to make a purchase less than $1250 to get 20% back until Dec 2nd.

Paypal really should honor the original terms for people that had already activated the offer, or at least ones that had already made a partial purchase. Was planning to spend at least the rest of the $1250 today. Had I not made a purchase early this morning with the knowledge I could do a 2nd one, I'd be eligible to do a single purchase of the full amount today under the new terms, but now I'm not. Ah well, still a nice chunk of savings.

Based on the wording of the email, it suggests a continuity to the terms, rather than end of one and start of another: "You've reached the limit on this offer given our new terms".

Yeah, that's true. PayPal didn't do themselves any favors with their wording in the terms, but a lot of people don't read, anyway.
But what about your AI tools? I thought they hold all the answers???

Placed an order near noon today and it's still showing 20% worth of points pending. Might be one more going forward but they can easy just take the pending points away.

Damn, I got the email also. I was going to make a couple of purchases yesterday which I held off on, now I'm kicking myself.

Can we make a new PayPal account and get this offer? Or was it only for existing customers.

Hopefully you didn't use it more than once today, because only ONE transaction is allowed effective today. For previous days, you're ok.
It says BEFORE today. Doesn't sound like it'll cove any purchased made today 11/26/25.

Ugh
Just goes to show, great deals never last, you would think I would have learned by now.

I made one small purchase but had a couple large ones lined up that I just hadn't gotten around to buying yet.

I snooze, I lose

I made one purchase last Friday, and read the terms. I think they intended it to be for one purchase/transaction, with a max of $250. The wording was confusing leading to multiple purchases exceeding the intended terms. This is at the top of the previous terms and new terms. PayPal may at any time and in its sole discretion, without prior notice, terminate, cancel, suspend or modify this offer or these terms. I don't think they ended the offer for those that haven't made a purchase unless the points limit has been exceeded. My email reads You've reached the limit on this offer given our new terms.

How it Works: The Offer allows Eligible Participants to earn PayPal Rewards Points ("Points") equivalent to 20% cash back on one Eligible Purchase during the Offer Period up to $1,250 spent. Eligible Participant must save the Offer through the Invitation once and then successfully complete one (1) Eligible Purchase during the Offer Period. For the one Eligible Purchase, each Eligible Participant will receive up to a maximum of 25000 Points, which can be redeemed for up to $250 cash or other options (the "Reward"). Rewards will no longer be earned once the Offer Period has ended. There is a maximum total of 2 billion (2,000,000,000) points available under this offer for all Eligible Participants who have saved the offer and made an Eligible Purchase. Rewards will no longer be available once this limit is reached. If the maximum total of Points available is reached before the end of the Offer Period, this offer will end early. The receipt and redemption of Points is subject to the PayPal Rewards Agreement.
