Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

there is a cap on Pay in 4, the amount of credit they extend. I hit that and got denied... so i paid some plans off and boom within 10 mins I was good to go. You can argue about intent vs what they actually said in the terms. The terms were clear you can get up to $250 back in any transaction ($1250 purchase price) and when we hit 1.5billion points it goes to 5% cb so first come first serve.

I checked my account and see a ton of the lines
20% cash back on pay later purchases with PayPal through 12/8
Nov 25 5599 points
20% cash back on pay later purchases with PayPal through 12/8
Nov 24 2966 points
etc...
It's a slap in the face if they reward me for... following their terms? okay dude, I understand you are hurt and envious, not sure what to tell you. I've missed tons of deals in the past but never was this salty. Again if they clawed it back they'd be dealing with thousands of returned items and angry merchants which would cost them far more than any cash back they ultimately gave out.
Your info has been breached 100x already from the government hacks, the credit reporting agency hacks, the random collector hacks etc. You gotta lock your stuff down and assume it's already out there... because it is.
"During the Special Offer Period, Eligible Participants will earn Points equivalent to 20% cash back on one or more Eligible Purchases up to $1,250 spent"

up to 1250 spent.
not
eligible purchases of up to 1250

this is clear. Its not semantics. We all know this. When has any company offered a promo that could be used up by one person? The whole point is to reach out to as many people possible. And why would they even add a cap, if you could borrow as much as you wanted anyways?
You guys are like trying to say "you can make multiple purchasees up to 1250, and then you can make as much ourchases up to 1250, and then you can make multiple purchases up to 1250 and the you can…"

So yeah if they reward you guys with everyone elses points, that is a slap in the face to the people who spent time on the promo

pretty sure they are intentionally throttling this promo now to avoid legal actions but also to not lose any more money. I haven't even made my first purchase yet and the total was only $1041, below the 1250 limit. credit score is 866. Tried on my 17 year old paypal account and was flagged for suspicious activity lol, I tried in a different account and was flagged too but instead for " limit being reached" which is very not true lmaoo, same cards.. of course the promo now disappeared from both my paypal accounts and will probably magically come back after dark friday and nerd monday. yeah right paypal
PayPal wasn't losing anymore money than they already planned on losing. This was 1.5 billion points ($15 million dollars) they were planning on spending/losing as part of the promotion. The only part of this that has now changed is that it's limited to 1 deal per person, rather than giving people the opportunity to go back to the all you can eat buffet as many times as they wish. Sure, they may not end up using all of the points they allocated for the promotion now, but who knows if they would have reached that even with us gorgers.

I did the deal twice last week and got the email saying I hit my limit today. My offer was showing saved and not used so I tried it again just now. My purchase is showing 20% points pending, so unless they claw back the points it seems like the offer can be used one more time.
I'm in the same boat. Was planning to make a couple more purchases, as I only completed one over the weekend. Trying to decide whether I should risk one more today. I also got the email saying I hit the limit, but the offer is still showing as saved.

People were using it to pay taxes etc. I remember how they nerfed the USB Smartly credit card in like six months because people were doing stuff like that regularly with six figures lol.

Got the email saying I've reached the limit on the offer, though checking my Paypal app I have a new offer for '20% cash back on one Pay Later purchase'.

Is "Pay Monthly" in 24 months qualified for the 20% cash back? Thanks.
Eligible Purchases are purchases made using either Pay in 4 or Pay Monthly that are completed during the Offer Period by an Eligible Participant who has saved the Offer and has not previously received the benefit of the offer.

This is a "The deal has been altered" situation. Per the previous terms, there was no limits, just the max purchase price per transaction.

And there's nothing to sue over. The email we've all received has stated that all previous points we've earned will still be honored and will still be valid, just no more going forward.

The terms said they reserve the right blah blah blah to do whatever they want.

And by the way, they changed the rules RETROACTIVELY, not JUST going forward.

They changed the rules/terms like 9 or 10 hours after my purchase earlier, and said I had hit the limit, based on a new limit which didn't exist at the time of my order.
AND they did not or at least have not indicated you will forfeit the points. So they have compromised. So it appears they haven't harmed you and it appears they prefer to keep goodwill with a customer.

I guess we might not know for a while to come. Hopefully you're good to go.

I do wonder how they paid their taxes with it. At least where I live, My taxes are > $1500, so they wouldn't have qualified for the promotion, and there was no way to split the payment up with the county to get it under the limit. A moot point at this point (I didn't even realize my tax appraiser accepted PayPal).

I thought $250 back was the limit per account, which can only be earned on one purchase rather than across multiple.
Maybe it was $250 per transaction and not per account?
Yes, it was per transaction. The $250 limit per account and only one transaction limits are what they changed it to now.

Im thinking of purchasing a canon lens for $1050 at Bestbuy.

I have "20% cash back on one Pay Later purchase with PayPal" on my rewards tab with highlighted green SAVED.

All I have to do is go to bb.com and check out using paypal pay-in 4. and this should be qualified for 20% cashback on my paypal account?

Is this the correct step to get the 20% cb? THANKS
