Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

I've only mentioned that a dozen times and included a screenshot of mine saying completed - retroactively, since I did all my purchases about 9 hours before the new terms were release.
Point is that you are making assumptions that might *only* apply to your Paypal account.

No hard inquires or software inquiries appeared on my Equifax despite getting a message from PayPal to unfreeze it, which I did temporarily. I've used both Pay in 4 AND Pay Monthly.

I haven't made any assumptions. The terms are very clear now. Only one transaction limit now for 20% rewards. It is what it is.

But some would look at that quickly and think the offer was still good for one purchase.
Probably. Don't count on PayPal to make it easy for people. But their new terms are more clear that it's one transaction limit now.

Don't you remember if you made a purchase today? If not, you are entitled to one under the new terms that started today. They allow for one transaction as of midnight this morning.
No, the new terms make it very clear that you are entitled to a max of one purchase up to $1250 for the offer term from October 8th to December 2nd. There is no doubt between the email and new terms that any purchases after the email don't qualify if you've already made one. This is not a new offer, it is a revision of the original, they've made that abundantly clear.

Yes I did make a purchase today but it was before the email came out.

Sure, points may show pending. Will they actually pay out in 90 days? That's the YMMV part people need to decide if it is worth the risk or not.

Where are you seeing that the offer is new as of Midnight? Nowhere does it say that, in fact it says the opposite, specifically listing the October 8th date.

After reading the comments and tried to place an order myself only read thoroughly the fine terms and conditions, I now have an unpopular opinion: This is an okay deal and reasons are as follows:
-The pay later option is really applying a credit line through paypal (with a mastercard or just a line of credit).
-Cash back is capped at $250 for spending $1250.
There are credit cards that offer great sign up bonuses without annual fees such as spending $500 within first 3 months getting $200 statement credit or $300 for spending $1k.
Paypal credit may not as convenient as other big credit cards. It this was purely rewards without applying another credit line, then it would be a great deal!
Pay in 4 has no interest and only involves a soft pull. You can also stack it with CC cash back, such as Bank of America's 3% for online shopping. That would net you $287.50 for only a $1,250 spend (plus any portal CB). If you just have a standard 2% catchall card, that's still $275. If you really want to max it out, grab something like the US Bank Altitude Connect (1% on everything), which allows you to get the card number immediately upon approval. Then you can use it to hit the $1k spend and get the $200 from them as well. That would net you $462.50 on a $1,250 spend.

As previously mentioned, the offers change all the time and vary by account which is why everyone should simply check their Rewards page:

https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/rewards

As far as 5% goes, it hasn't disappeared going forward.

Holiday Buy Now, Pay Later Promotion
From December 9 through December 31, 2025, Pay Later purchases earn 5% cash back.

I have saved the offer earlier and made a purchase from Apple for pickup tomorrow. How do I check if I get the points or not?

Go into your PayPal account click on rewards and scroll down

If they charged you already they should show as pending

In my case, was already pre-approved so no need to unfreeze anything at any of the three bureaus. Again all based on individual Paypal accounts.

Go into the transaction details and it will tell you the number of points. Should also show it on your "rewards" page.

So much confusion here.
I now see a new offer on my account, "20% CB on one pay later with PP" 6 days left, so until dec/2. It is different than the other offer we had with different expiry date.

My other points show as pending, so if this was the same offer this should show as redeemed, correct ?

dude your cognitive dissonance is off the scale. It says right here:
"For each Eligible Purchase, each Eligible Participant will receive a maximum of 25000 Points, which can be redeemed for $250 cash or other options (the "Reward") per Eligible Purchase."
How do you have 250 cash per eligible purchase if 250 is the cap in total??
Please use your head or ask your mom to explain it to you. Again try not to be so bitter. You win some you lose some.
Youre saying i have cognitive dissonance, when youre ignoring every single point i make? Literally ignoring where it says $1250 spent, at the very bottom clear as day. The only time you refferee to any clear points i made was to say so bezos couldnt buy a jet on this deal.

i will repeat for the 5th time it says $1250 spent total, the promotion only applies to 1250 spent total. I asked my mom, she concurred and laughed, it was actually hard to explain to her your guys logic in all of this. Regardless it says 1250 spent, im not responding to any other tangent. This is how you guys operate, you go off on tangents, i swear the internet in recent years has destroyed any respect anyone has for the truth.

But ill bite one last time… so for any eligible purchase, (a purchase that has not exceeded your 1250 cap total) once you exceed it, it is no longer eligible. So this is all pointless, they know that. Theyre just clarifying that if you do make a purchase it will not exceed 250 no matter what. They dont care if its 3000, the max is 250. Theres noway around it. If you qualify to use 1250 under the promo guidelines, the max you will get is 250 for that purchase. Youve literally taken the end sentence, applied your own meaning to it and ignored the entire rest of the toc. Youre saying it makes sense you can do it over and over again all because it says per eligible purchases at the end. The line before it literally says you can onky receive 25000 points maximum, stop, which can be redeemed for cash, for your eligible purchases (under 1250 spent total, not in groups of multiple purchases, or whatever youre trying to construe. Again it literally says in the toc, at the very bottom very clear. Good luck.

I literalky had to explain your guys interpretstion of it is that you can make multiple purchases under a 1250 cap, and then once youre done with that cap you can go again and make multiple purchases under 1250….i shouldnt even have to explain this it doesnt even make sense, like lets say if the wording left some loopholes, they probably wouldnt even allow it because its so illogical, that no one could actually believe it
