Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Anyone tried seeing if a 2nd account would still be eligible for the reward after already reaching the $1250 limit? The terms do state "per customer" and it would be trivial to enforce this since it's linked to a soft credit pull...but hoping maybe it might work on a 2nd account?
You're only allowed one account per person. You need your social security number in the account to get approved for pay in 4 so you won't be able to have 2 accounts, unless you have a spouse etc to use.

I just checked Target again and underneath the Pay in 4 option it's now showing "Unavailable". However, "Pay Monthly" is still an option, so I suppose this means PayPal has cut off the account?
Wait until tomorrow and see if your spending power comes back (your paypal account should show your current spending power).

Just can't seem to get PayPal Pay in 4 to show the bank account linked in PayPal. All the CCs I've tried fails also.

Pay in 4 option is there but the next screen always asks to add a card to complete. No Amex to try unfortunately.

Anyone know how to get this to work? What am I missing?
Is your bank account verified?

My first purchase showed Getting 20% cash back, it was only $200, so still $1050 of $1250 remaining. Now trying another purchase, it's not showing Getting 20% cash back message anymore. Does that mean I'll still get it if I check out with Pay in 4 or I won't get it?
This is a one time use offer. Unless that 20% you got was from several days ago when that limitation didn't exist.

Check your paypal account, if the offer shows "complete" you cannot earn any more points.

Not positive but I don't think so. With some accounts they have to send 2 small deposits and withdrawals to verify it. With others they ask you for the login info so they can verify it instantly (which I don't trust doing).

Hi, thanks for the response. So even if it doesn't say getting 20% cash back when selecting Pay in 4, I will still get it after check out?

My offer does not say Congratulations.

Yeah I did the quick method cause the small deposit method takes days.

I don't think either of my purchases showed "20% back" at checkout. Maybe that depends on the retailer (there are a few different interfaces to paypal that look different).

Was your first purchase made before the email came out saying the terms had changed? If so your second one should be fine.

If you just did it it still may take a while to get linked to pay later. Or maybe try closing your browser and starting from scratch, may be some caching going on.

I just got an email telling me my rewards for the 20% promo were available for the first purchase I made, back on the 17th. Sure enough, I was able to cash out the points. That's the fastest turnaround I've seen with PayPal cashback. I'll watch to see how soon I get cashback for the 2nd purchase I made on the platform earlier this week.

It depends on what you bought and the return policy. If you bought a gift card or paid a bill (something that can't be refunded) it happens pretty quick. Other things will take the full 90 days.

I used twice but just got an email that they're changing the terms:

Thank you for being a part of our limited-time Buy Now Pay Later holiday promotion. We're so happy you've been able to take advantage of it. You've reached the limit on this offer given our new terms, which can be found here.
https://www.paypal.com/us/campaig...ffer-terms

Any eligible PayPal Pay Later transactions you made before today will receive the benefit of the original offer terms.
Didn't even notice that I got the same email two days ago. Now I feel dumb for using it on a couple small purchases early in the week and holding off for bigger purchases later this week.

Does this work with Discover cards? When I first read this thread, someone wrote it doesn't, but why would that matter?
It worked with my Discover card.
