Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Traditional small cashback websites with no power over merchants must wait for return windows to close and depend on the generosity of merchants to pay up before they can payout to their clickers. Paypal is a $50B business, they have no such problems with cb which is a tiny part of their business. Learn the difference.
Paypal is a public company and if people scam them out of tons of money by buying and returning items, it will look bad and affect their share price.

I've used their rewards plenty of times, if what you're saying is true, why would they hold most of them for 60 or 90 days? If they don't care they might as well make them available instantly.

Paypal uses the same affiliate networks as the "small" cashback sites (who do much larger cash back business than paypal does, paypal is trying to catch up), there is no difference there, they don't work directly with every single retailer. Perhaps this "pay in 4" promo they're just handing out the points without going through the usual referral programs (but if that was the case, mine would have gone payable by now).

I got the email the other day stating the terms had been changed and me early purchases would be honored, but that I was essentially done with the offer. Since then, I've done two more pay later payments and both have 20% in points pending. It'll be interesting to see if they materialize.
1) Was the deal marked as completed in your rewards section?
2) Did your previous purchase give you less than 25000 points in total?

had 40k points pending and now only showing 25k posted
spent $2k way prior to the terms being changed

wont be long until someone starts the ball rolling on a lawsuit against PayPal changing their terms & conditions mid promotion trying to secure as many loans as possible and doing a bait-and-switch
did you have 40k points before they changed the terms?

I made a purchase earlier at best buy but did guest checkout and while the transaction showed up as authorizing on paypal, it didn't show up on the bestbuy system (discovered that after chatting with a best buy agent). I then called paypal and they told me that the buy-now-pay-later authorization wasn't going to go through, even though the paypal website still showed it as pending authorization.
The paypal rep helped me cancel the earlier transaction and I redid the purchase, this time logged in to my best buy account (same details as from the earlier transaction, also same payment source), and the transaction went through and I see the pending points on the paypal website.
As an extra data point, I couldn't add my chase card as a payment source for buy-now-pay-later, but I was able to use my amex platinum.

I claimed this offer but haven't made any purchases yet. As far as I can tell, I never got an email from PayPal saying the terms had changed. Either way, I don't see any "saved offers" when I log into the PP app. Should I be able to see it there? Am I toast?

Just in time to buy new tires before winter and stack with Black Friday deals. Discount Tire has PayPal Pay in 4.

Points showed as pending immediately after checkout.

Log in to PayPal in a web browser. It didn't show on my app either, but it showed on the PayPal website.

It doesn't show up in the saved offers section. As long as you claim the offer you're good to go.

How do you call paypal? There doesn't seem to be a number only chat support which takes hours to respond.

Good luck with that, but here ya go...

How to Contact PayPal by Phone

Many users get frustrated when they cannot find a phone number and end up stuck in chat support. PayPal only shows phone support once you are logged in.

Steps to Call PayPal Directly
- Log in to your PayPal account
- Scroll down and click Contact
- Select your issue
- If phone support is available, PayPal will display a unique phone number and one-time passcode for faster service

General U.S. Customer Service Line
1‑888‑883‑9770 (Mon–Fri, 8 AM–8 PM CT)

Tip
Request a callback through the Contact page. It is often quicker than waiting in chat.

Are we supposed to see the 20% when we checkout using pay in 4? I have the deal saved but it just shows full price with no mention of the promo. Want to ensure before purchase.

If the purchase was made after the terms changed, it won't.
Since the transaction is not void now, I guess I can still try. Do you think that doesn't matter
