Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Did a bestbuy purchase of $659, received 14067 points before the pp email. Did a 2nd purchase with home depot purchase of $1446, received 10933 points after the updated paypal email. i guess im maxed out at 250k point
Thanks for yet another data point that the ChatGpt interpretation was flawed.

I'm not quite willing to put money on it yet, but I bet that no one is going to receive a penny more than $250 in rewards. We will see as more data points continue to come in.

I'm glad I didn't spend a bunch of money believing that this was some sort of infinite money glitch. Although that would have been great! If the tables were turned I'm sure I would be regretting not having made more purchases...

So I had made a couple of purchases before PayPal updated their terms. The points for both purchases are still pending. I did get the email saying that I was no longer eligible. And when I checked the rewards page for my account I no longer saw the option.
However today when I checked the reward page, I see an offer for 20% off for one pay later purchase.
Does this mean I can make one more purchase and get the 20% cashback?
Anyone in the same boat see this option now? Has anyone tried it again?
Looks like it's for the monthly pay option which has interest charges. Can this option be paid off early to avoid the interest charges?

I mean technically you haven't learned the hard way as the promo hasn't ended yet. Yes the terms say pending transactions won't qualify, however HD's supplier should accept this persons order tomorrow or monday so should be fine. Whether they'll invalidate points on pending transactions that clear soon after remains to be seen.
I did because it happened when they CHANGED the terms the first time and disqualified one of my purchases that was purchased before the change and marked complete after the change

Yes, if you read through the comments you'll see that several people have been able to make one final purchase, which shows pending points. But the total maximum of all reward points has yet to exceed $250. So let's say you've already spent $800... You can probably make one more purchase for $450 to max out the promotion.

This only based on data points and nothing has been verified. No one has actually received points for a purchase that was made after the terms changed, yet. Proceed with caution! But don't expect more than $250 total from all combined purchases.

I see. I tried to go and read a few post, I guess I didn't go back enough.

So, in your example, can I make a purchase greater than $450 and then just receive point on the $450 portion of the purchase?

Do these people have pending points for these new purchases?

That is what the data points show. Let's say you were $500 for maxing out the promotion but you make $1,000 purchase.. those people are showing pending points for the $500 portion but no points beyond that.

Again, this is all speculation. No one has had the points posted yet (for purchases after the terms changed) so know that there is a possibility that you may not receive any further points. The fact that it shows pending points up to the promotion maximum makes it seem likely that you will probably actually get them though. Use your own judgment.

The answer is yes. But this has been mentioned in this thread many, many times.

For people that have done a recent purchase, does the offer still show for you? I've done one purchase but don't see any email that others mention about being limited etc and still see the offer (on website only). Worst case I do a purchase and see if I get points, right? Then cancel the order if I don't?

I wonder if this stacks with other paypal cashback offers. There's a 15% back at Microsoft Store one.

Wondering same thing. Does it stack with the other 20% PayPal apparel promo?

I have a similar experience. Made 2 purchases before the email, and 2 more purchases after terms changed. my last one was for the largest amount, but wasnt given full 20% back. Total pending for 4 orders is only 25k points
