Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

I think I screwed it up. I used it to buy Amazon and other GCs worth $1250 from Best buy. I charged it to my default card on PayPal, but on final confirmation Best buy asked me to enter a CC and I entered the same default PayPal CC #. Looks like Best Buy charge my CC not PayPal, even though in PayPal I see $312.50 pending for authorization.

If you are seeing points in PayPal, then it should be PayPal, try to check transaction history.
Also you got 25% cash back

If I did one transaction before the change of terms does that mean I still have one transaction left as long as i didnt max out the $250?

25k points cleared on my first transaction which was a little over $1,250, so it was expected it would cap down to 25k.

Now to see if the remaining "pending" purchases will also clear if they are holding to their end of the bargain with their recent email stating that original purchases will be honored before they clarified the terms and conditions of the deal.

Was the fridge running?

If so, you better catch it.

I just bought an appliance deal from home depot using this - I did not have pay later available but did have pay monthly, and was approved for it, so did the 6 months option w/ plan to pay it in full in a day or two when the points showed. The purchase shows in my paypal app activity section with a note of "points pending" and the transaction says "Authorization in progress".

If I click on the transaction there is a note: "this is a temporary authorization to make sure your payment method will cover the requested amount. Your payment method will be charged when your transaction is completed". Then under rewards it does show pending points (though no specific amount) and the 20% cashback on one pay laer purchase with paypal as "Pending".

What has me a bit concerned is "authorization in progress" and if that means its still waiting on the merchant (hd) to confirm. These appliance aren't scheduled for delivery until Dec 4th. Is it likely that home depot won't complete the transaction until the delay of delivery - which would likely be too late? Or am I still fine?
I am facing the same issue except on Ebay. The purchase doesnt even show yet on ebays side (the item is still in the cart and the purchase tab doesnt show the item) however I have the temporary authorization in my paypal for the first part of the purchase along with it pending in my bank account.
