Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

If you are seeing points in PayPal, then it should be PayPal, try to check transaction history.
Also you got 25% cash back
I think you misread their comment. They said they have a pending charge not pending points, there's no way he would get 25% back that's the 1st of the Pay in 4 charges (25%).

This offer actually isn't valid for PayPal credit. It's only valid for "pay later", which includes pay in 4 and pay monthly. PayPal credit is a separate thing that's not part of this promotion.
Okay so that confused me cause it was part of the offer to pay by 6 months (which sounds like paying later). You're saying Pay Later is not part of the pay by 6 months but pay monthly or pay in 4. WTF.

Yes, that's what I'm doing. Assuming the discounted price will not show up on the BB side and will show the full transaction price.
However, I am seeing the Shop Now button on the offer page that's saved in my Rewards. Does that mean I havent been approved yet? Of if I'm seeing the Payin4 option on BB.com that this offer will convert? thanks!
Don't worry about the shop now button. Just go to BB. So long as you saved the offer and you choose the PayPal PayLater from the BB checkout, you have done your part to get the CB Just check your PayPal account after the confirmation from BB that the purchase happened

I choose to pay 4 using a Discover Card.

Pay monthly has a 6-month option (and is part of this offer) but it is a completely different product from PayPal credit.

You specifically said PayPal credit, which is a different product and doesn't qualify for this offer. I can't tell if you misunderstood and wrote PayPal credit accidentally or if that's what you actually used.

If you legit used PayPal credit then you won't qualify for this offer.

If you used pay monthly (and you just mistakenly called it PayPal credit), and the transaction went through, then you should.

For pay later, which includes pay monthly and pay in 4, you don't apply for it ahead of time. The application happens at the point of sale. Unlike PayPal credit which you actually do apply for ahead of time.

Make sense?

Paypal did NOT approve the Pay in 4. Below is the error message that I got in message center:
"Application information tied to unusual activity."

Anyone know why this is happening? I don't have anything unusual in paypal. Good credit score, no loans or other issues.

Did anyone else get this error and any tips on how to resolve this? Thanks.
just got the same error message! help!

Ah, so it seems like a dice roll with no clear answer. Would help if anyone can report any recent purchase in the past handful of hours if they're seeing the pending points.
Dozens of people have reported receiving pending points on purchases made after the terms changed / email was sent. None have been credited yet though so none of us know if it will stick. If the offer doesn't show completed in your rewards, you will likely get pending points. Beyond that, no one knows for sure what will happen.

I am getting

"Something went wrong"
"Return to checkout"

Tried on Firefox and Safari. No ad blockers. HELP!

Now I am getting
"Sorry, we couldn't approve your application
We'll send you an email with more info. In the meantime, you can still check out with PayPal quickly and securely."

Got this mail:

I'm one of the people who never received the email about the updated terms, which makes me think I still qualify for the at least one more 20% offer.

So I am one of those people that got the updated terms email (after placing two separate orders using the promotion) I just got my $250 rewards credited back to me and they removed the other pending points from the second purchase I made. Basically you only get $250 max. I'm sure many people have figured this out already but wanted to share my experience.

FYI: if your order gets canceled by merchant for any reason, you're SOL:

"If your order was canceled AFTER the offer was redeemed → You CANNOT use it again

If any of the following happened:

First installment was processed
Merchant captured the order
Reward points show as Pending
Reward points show as Completed
Then the offer is considered used, even if the order is later canceled or refunded.

PayPal will not give the 20% offer back."
Bummer. How did you find out about this? Best Buy randomly cancelled my Switch 2 order and I'm hoping I'm not screwed.

Man, this deal started off good. But it seems like making a purchase in the last three days can be a hit or miss. I have three orders showing as 20% cashback pending. However, one order doesn't show the first payment as being made even though I see the charge on my credit card. For the second order, I see payment made on my card and in paypal, but the merchant has a note next to my order saying payment not received and order pending.

Best Buy cancelled order on one of my accounts. I sent a message to PayPal and ended up in a chat with them about it and this was their response. Really bad customer experience, but not shocked for PayPal. Should be one set of points posted to the account. Can't control what a merchant does.

I actually got the Pay in 4 button, went through the prompts then got the Something went wrong message.

I was trying to purchase a Retroid Pocket 6. It would've been a hell of a deal. First world problems to be sure, but I am so frustrated. Had my hopes up on extra $60 back. I will remember this transaction when dealing with PayPal in the future.

They offered a tremendous deal. Got caught with their pants down and now firing denials to their customers shrouded in an error. Shame on them
