Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

For those who purchased e gift cards on best buy, how long did it take to receive the gift cards? 4 days out since purchase, already paid off the PayPal bill.
I got them in less than an hour. Check spam email and if not there, contact Best Buy.

Oops, I'd fully paid the balance for my iPad Pro and just now received a refund for the trade in. Thought it would go to my Paypal balance, but it went to the pay in 4 balance. Dunno what's gonna happen next. In retrospect I should have expected this and not paid the balance until I got the refund. Hopefully it gets transferred to my Paypal balance and not have to wait for a paper check or some shenanigans like that like Amex does when you carry a negative balance for too long.

Just want to add my experience as a data point.
11/20 ordered an S25 Ultra and got pending 171,000 points instantly which got confirmed 12/01 and immediately redeemed for $171 cash back to my Paypal account.
11/25 ordered Fold 7 and immediately got 225,000 points pending which got confirmed today 12/06. Redeemed that for $225 cash back
Interesting thing to add, I got a $100 refund from Samsung on the Fold 7 purchase but Paypal never reduced my points. I'm thinking I might be able to return the S25 Ultra and keep the cash back (already sold the Fold 7).

Got no beef, just telling the truth, it was capped at $1250 from day one, clear as day, was just replying to those who didnt get the extra rewards and are saying theyre contacting the bbb and attorneys ect. The onky thing that can be said is they collected alot of information from people who were given the belief they were part of the promo and then gave alot of lies to probably avoid discriminatory lending. All our credit was perfect. Telling someone there credit card is being declined when its not is pretty serious to me.They also gave probably 80% of the points it sounds like to like a small portion of people and then ended the promo early. Theres plenty of things to complain about but you cant complain about getting rewards for anything over $1250 when it clearly stated 1250. This whole thread is sketch. The fact that it was even brought up in the first place, it was clearly capped at 1250 but someone brings it up anyways, it gets shot down, and then people ignore it and start exceeding 1250 and then actually get the rewards. Meanwhile theyre flagging 20 year old accounts for fraud, and picking and choosing who gets more than 1250. And the promo didnt even make sense, why woukd they want to advertise lending money with no interest to people who were gonna pay in full anyways? In unlimited amounts. The whole point of it is to get people werent going to spend and didnt have the money to buy anyways. Paypal has just become sketch and desperate, the only thing they do that others dont is the conflict resolution and tyhats down to 30 days now and really is probably only beneficial to the scammers
dude, you win some you lose some. I personally don't think PayPal intended to give any single account more than $250 CB, but they didn't code it correctly or make it clear enough in the T&C's. They realized their mistake, updated the terms and coding, and decided to make good on anyone who was smart enough to jump in with both feet.
All there is to it imo.

People who canceled orders jumped in with both feet and jumped right back out with the cashback in hand!

I thought about that but I'm wondering if I have to wait for the deposits to not the bank account first
Nope, don't wait. Any withdrawal you've initiated will remain active and should hit the next business day.

To the guy saying they'll come after you via collections in the rare instance they attempt a clawback, yeah, okay...like they're going to do that when their own terms & conditions were beyond ambiguous. That was the heartiest laugh I've had on here in a long while, and that's saying something.

The terms were clear, it was up to $1250 total. The first page of thus thread made it clear.

But the original terms were clear, it was capped at 1250 total.

You're leaving out some important information: It was capped at $1250 PER TRANSACTION. They LATER changed the terms after we had been using it for days racking up the rewards points. woot

Then to top it off, we have multiple people including myself who have used above the $1250 amount and have points already distributed for each of the purchases in excess of that, for the purchases made under the original terms.

This is why PayPal changed the terms later to make it a single purchase limit with a $1250 limit. You wouldn't change the terms if you weren't changing them. laugh out loud

Do Pay in 4 balances need to be fully paid off to get the points confirmed? I had one transaction that I paid off fully that I got on top of my original $250, but the other two transactions are still pending and those are the two that are still on payment 2 out of 4. These were all transactions that were done before the "clarifying letter", so they should be eligible for extra points.

Yeah if you read the full terms it very clearly in legal terms says that its per transaction. What I think happened was the original promo was 5%, and at that percentage they didn't care very much if people used it a ton, but when updating the promo to 20% they didn't stop and think "People are going to use this a ton", but what matters is what they actually put in a legal document, not what they might have put in if they thought about it more.

Wow I already got the reward and already used the points. Definitely easiest $500 I ever made in my life!
I noticed something else: I paid property taxes with this offer. And to my surprise: When using paypal, it shows up as "Online purchase" for Bank of America cash rewards card. So I got 5.25% cash back from my CC in addition to the $500. Given than local tax authority charges %3, my net is 2.25%. So my net profit is $250 (my paypal) + $250 (wife's paypal) + 56 (from CC) = $556. Thanks to OP and SlickDeals for this wonderful deal!
