This is the deal I was waiting for! The only difference from the previous deal is that the CPU is one step below: 258 vs 268. But has twice the storage.

I am looking a light 32GB/258V/OLED/14/120Hz laptop.
Grabbed Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i for $1100 open box excellent.
Slim 9i has best in class 3840x2400/120Hz/750 nits display and bigger battery, while X1 is 20% lighter with gen 5 SSD.
Is X1 Carbon worth extra $400 and why are they so expensive?

I think in the US you can only get haptic with custom build

Is the Yoga Slim 9i the model with the under-glass camera? I saw reviews on YT and the webcam is horrid.
I prefer the cheaper 15" Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition with 32GB RAM/1TB (you can upgrade SSD). The screen is not OLED but side-by-side my OLED laptop, it's hard to tell the difference with the great glass screen on the 7i. I think open-box excellent on BB is around $900.

great deal but I need a touch screen and hopefully there will be a good deal on a X1 Carbon with a touch screen.

Yeah 14" needs to have the ts. Mandatory for me. It's more useful for scrolling.

@Eragorn, is there a Lenovo Black Friday paper ad that this was listed? This is about 50% OFF and just wanted to make sure that just regular members can also order it, along with Pro?

Yes that's the one. Camera is bad in low light (ok under direct light), but the screen is the best among all 14" laptops and no bezels. Something to give up certainly.
That's why I am trying to understand the appeal of X1 carbon for $1500+ vs Yoga Slim 9i

The thinkpad carbon is in a different league of build quality compared to the Yoga Slim. It's not even close even though they are both Lenovo. I would never spend over 1k on a Yoga Slim.

LONG time thinkpad user here (since the x200 / T400 line). I have an X1C9 now. Its fine, but nothing special. I have a macbook air M1 for work and it absolutely beats the crap out of my thinkpad. Doesnt overheat - no fans either - not even sure how apple does it.

Im still gonna buy 3-5 year old thinkpads for a couple hundred bucks and be pretty happy with it, but theres not a single windows laptop I've seen that makes spending this much worth it.

Maybe the snapdragon thinkpads will eventually come close to the performance and cooling of a mac, but im not gonna hold my breath. Its like every windows laptop is borderline cheap chinese crap.
