Milwaukee's M18 track saw stands out as a cordless cutting system that feels close to a table saw for sheet goods and long cuts. It has strong runtime, with dozens of cuts on a 6.0Ah high output battery and even 3.0Ah batteries cutting without issue. The saw shares track compatibility with Makita and some third party rails, and the riving knife and single battery setup give it an edge over the Makita version. The main drawbacks are the two piece track seam, which can snag or leave a slight curve, and the need to sort out battery compatibility or adapters.
Woodworkers cutting sheet goods on battery power, because the saw can make dozens of cuts on a 6Ah battery without issue.
Shop users who want a track saw that can replace a guide clamp, because it feels like a different beast and can almost substitute for a table saw.
Owners already invested in Makita batteries, because a decent adapter can let the saw run on that battery platform.
Carpenters needing long straight cuts on thick hardwood, because it has been used through near 2-inch maple without fuss.
Woodworkers who need a single-piece long track, because the two-piece rail creates a snag at the seam and can leave a slight curve in the cut.
Traveling contractors hauling long aluminum rails, because 100-inch-plus tracks are thin enough to dent and deform in transit.
Buyers expecting one complete package in a single shipment, because the saw and rail are separate items and can ship separately.

not a professional by any means but something that can be used in variety of ways
was considering this as it seems a bit more user friendly with the track/etc

100"+ isn't exactly easy to transport/move around in use & around the shop, either.
..so it lasts quite a while
I've used the 3.0 AH HO battery with mine out of curiosity, but I ran out of cuts to make and I wasn't about to just waste wood. Cut without issue.
