This is a good deal, but not quite the one I want. I was hoping the same would apply to the version with Matter support (P110M), but not this time. (The 2-pack has the 25% back, but not the 4-pack.)

Matter is mostly a future-proofing feature, since Tapo works with the major home automation ecosystems already without it.

Great deal. Just bought the Kasa open box for $36. Should I return them and grab this?

Do you plug this into the wall and the powerstrip into this or do you plug these into multiple outlets on your power strip? (for energy monitoring)

Depends if you want to control/monitor the entire stripYou could do that if you wanted I guess

In for one, getting 4 smart plugs from a name brand for $17.25 is already a good deal and the energy monitoring is an extra bonus.

Looks like the 25% cashback on Prime Visa is showing up now.

These can be Internet blocked and still used locally through the router after setup. The main issue is I have had issues with the devices hanging up randomly after I do that like it's freezing up looking for an Internet connection for some reason. Once I reconnect it to the Internet it works flawlessly. Using in home assistant

I prefer the Kasa since it doesn't need internet connection. I have mine on an isolated wifi connection.

Fairly certain these work with Home Assistant. I've noticed that a lot of these TP-Link products integrate with Home Assistant well for local access. After setup, you can block internet access to the devices if your router supports that kind of granularity.

I have an SSID on my network for IoT exclusively that is only 2.4GHz. Why crowd your 5GHz with IoT devices? It gets crappier range and gives you less bandwidth for your actual devices.

its for my wife's business. she has spectrum provide her internet. All she can tell me is the SSID and password to connect. It's only sending out a 5GHz connection apparently and they are impossible to get to come and change it.
