Slightly tempted. The lowest this has ever been available on amazon is around $70.

Apparently a bunch of cruise lines explicitly ban these and will remove them from your luggage if they find it.

Can you use this to remove an Airbnb router and use this instead for your own network? I know you can connect this to the existing Airbnb router and have your own network but wondering if this can be used as a stand alone router?

WTF you serious? What basis do they have for this, what if I want to use it to transfer files on my personal network between my devices...

Neolithic response from cruise carriers who instead fail to innovate other ways to steal your money!

Many cruise lines charge you per device to use the internet. These routers can connect as one device but you can connect as many to the router as you want. (But can't leave the room.) They don't allow Starlink on the boats either. (Yes, this is highway robbery.)

Note that many phones can act as basic travel routers now.

For Samsung: Mobile hotspot -> click on your network name -> click "advanced" -> enable "wi-fi sharing"

You only have to enable that setting once. Once it is enabled, you can connect to a wifi upstream for Internet access and enable hotspot to create a downstream network for all your other devices. All your devices can now join your own wifi network and access the Internet through your phone's wifi, just like a travel router. You'll only have to pay the single per-device fee.
