I've had the 8 gallon version of this for years now. Been perfectly fine for intermittent garage use.

It is heavy, so don't buy it expecting to take it anywhere.

Also fairly sure the OEM maybe vacmaster, but I don't have any proof other than some VM products are very similar and have almost identical part numbering.

I had this vac, it died after 2 months of every day use to suck up about 3 gal of water. Got a replacement, after a few weeks motor started to smell like it was burning. Threw it in the trash and bought a shopvac. $30 is hard to argue for occasional use though

Good deal. Almost pulled the trigger on $40 decided to hold out to see if other vacs I was eyeballing came down in price for black friday. Then went to WM last week and saw it was down to $30 and got it. Really good suction, lightweight. Just push the wheels in, attach the hose and it's ready to rock. Sucked up chunks of drywall, coins, nerf darts, marbles, everything that dared to be on the basement floor when ol' pops was playing with his new toy

At least with this model, you can get the hard bags and filters from MOST walmart stores and since they have later hours, if you find yourself in a pickle, you can almost always get a replacement if you run out.

If you're in a Walmart store, look by their Hart shop vac's. You can quickly identify those bags because they're YELLOW (so is the filter). They will keep small micron particles from drywall dust and other really fine objects trapped. I don't have the time to wade through walmarts' convoluted marketplace for a seller to link anything. I would recommend only buying them in store though (mainly because I do not trust the marketplace on Walmart's' website
