How is the battery on this as far as expanding and heat? I'm so hesitant to get another HP because of how mine is now, expanded and bloated but supposedly not part of the recalls...

Umm. So there's a lot of caveats. HP makes decent laptops and have good batteries. It's people who leave them plugged in all the time, lithium ion batteries do not like being charged to 100% and left there. That's how they rapidly age. And eventually they could swell up and cause problems. Best to charge to 80% and let it drain to 20% or so and recharge. As far as this laptop is concerned, for 300$ this should be coming with 16gb of ram. 8gb is almost not enough anymore for windows 11. Unless you really spend a lot of time researching how to do all the performance tweaks to it.
