Careful if you live in Wisconsin or Michigan - Republicans currently have bills crafted to ban VPNs.

Just gonna put this out there.. If you know windscribe you know they're a bit of a quirky company, last year they had their usual strange video on Nov 20th and usually on a wall in a scene or something is a special code where you can get a further discount. I managed it last year and now I'm on $19/yr for life. I think the discounts are first come first serve so you have to be quick, but if you can get it it's a pretty decent deal for a good vpn company.

Well, their ultimate goal is a nation porn ban ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0noIS9lmR0Y ), they are using state legislature like the bills in Texas, Wisconsin and Michigan as attack vectors. These people don't understand technology very well, but they know enough that VPNs are typically used to get around these bans, so that's why they are proposing a ham-fisted blanket ban on VPNs.

It remains to be seen if they know how critical VPNs are to many industries and how they would write the law knowing this information.. Hopefully these bills get shut down before they see the light of day, because this is going to be a massive headache for many people and businesses for what amounts to an ineffectual ban.

Between now and 2028, they will run 19/yr sometime. I've high confidence.

it may

but black friday is normally when they have their best deal of the year. vpn's are also in high demand world wide currently. I think they realized $19 was too cheap and could milk people for more.

the number of vpn providers is insane. For example, expressvpn is running 100% cb sale today. The reddit dude [reddit.com] just posted it sometime back.

Yep. There are a lot of VPN providers and the best VPN deals unfortunately do not appear on SlickDeals because they involve cashback from other affiliate sites that we can't name here.

If you look you'll find cashback on Black Friday and Cyber Monday approaching and even exceeding 100%. Many of the deals have started already. With some of them you can sign up and prepay for 5 years then get more than 100% of what you paid back via these cashback sites. I see 100% or more right now from SurfShark, SafeShell, ExpressVPN, Private Internet Access, CyberGhost. NordVPN is at 95% but I suspect will go to 100 on Friday.

I've currently have 5-year plans from Nord, SurfShark, and PureVPN and I've gotten back about $50 more than I paid. Of course, this is for the basic service. They all hit you with a variety of upsells.

Meh, I'm gonna hold out for the 20/year life time. I have until 1/2029. 4 years is a long time.

Boom. Check out the cashback today. There are a dozen providers with at least 100% cash back.

In for one. Been using them since 2018. They have been great and do exactly what I need them to do. Mine was expiring next month, and it stacked it. see attached.

wish the three year for $69 was still active. $29 yearly isn't horrible in comparison but still sucks, especially after seeing they were running $19 yearly subs. may just switch to proton instead.
That seems to be what I got back in '23 but somehow my subscription says expires in '28 Confused

Well, again, as I said, SlickDeals doesn't allow me to link to a list or mention other affiliate sites, but the three I got last year all have similar deals now: PureVPN, Nord VPN, and SurfShark. A quick glance at one cashback site where I have an account (again, I can't name them) shows 100%+ cashback deals at PureVPN, SurfShark, ExpressVPN, Cyberghost, FastestVPN, PIA, SafeShell... I didn't click on them all and I know some have limits to what they offer the cashback on. The three I chose all allowed me to prepay for up to 5 years and get it all back as a rebate within 90 days. I believe PureVPN was 135% cashback.

Just buy Windscribe, the rest are not worth it. Take a look at their ControlD too while you are at it.

May I ask why you are paying for 3 different VPN services?

Sometimes it's nice to have a variety in case one goes down or a site doesn't like a specific ips from the vpn.

But it's more the fact they are paying him back via the cash back sites. And it's also a great way to test them out.

Somebody else answered for me, but yeah. "Paying" is a stretch. They paid me. I won't keep all of them past the initial 5-year period that I "paid" for. I may not keep any of them. But it's also nice to have multiple VPNs in case one is experiencing problems, or if, as in my case, you're trying to get around localization restrictions and the one of them has its IP addresses blocked. If one doesn't work, I switch over to another. They also have different strengths. I've been happy with PureVPN on my phone, but their FireTV app is terrible.
