I assume you're referring to the recent "news" about WrtHug? No, not an issue... that's an ancient CVE that has long since been patched. Only very old routers, or those that were never patched, are at issue.

Keep the firmware up to date, and you're fine. Asus routers are super capable, superb routers. It's all I use these days.

This BE92 isn't bad, but there is a more powerful BE96 if you really need more power. Most home users would be fine with the 92, which makes this a great deal overall.

Remember, just because your router is Wifi7 doesn't mean you'll get more performance on your devices - the devices have to support Wifi7 as well, in order to make a real difference.

For those that care, not supported by Merlin firmware.

I'd argue a tri-band 6E router would be more performant for the vast majority of people, since 6E is much more common among devices, and the 6ghz band helps with congestion. Dual band Wi-Fi 7 isn't where it's at, as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed... exactly, Wifi7 is still relatively new, so unless you have the NEWEST devices, you're better off with a higher-end Wifi6 device. I don't know if the 92 has better wifi6... I suppose it could, but don't assume it.

I'll stick to Wifi6 - my current RT-AX86 works great.
