OP first posted it at ouraring.com. Staff made it at Amazon, but kept a link to the original site. Suppose they get more commission from Amazon.

Not worth it at all without it. The data you get is incredibly basic

Community Reviews

Oura Ring 4 is a sleep and health tracking ring that stands out most for its small form factor and easy overnight wear. The app delivers detailed insights only with a membership, while the free experience is limited to basic scores and little explanation. The first month is free, then the subscription continues at about $8 a month. Costco is repeatedly noted at the same price with extra chargers, which makes the bundle worth comparing.

If we buy through paypal/amex does it count for Amex credit?
I wondered that same thing to take advantage of the Paypal 20% off and there were a lot of Reddit posts that it does not although some were successful in getting AMEX customer service to manually post the credit. None were successful at pay later.

Can this thing function as a sleep alarm and vibrate to wake you up? I wear my Apple Watch to sleep mainly for that purpose but this seems like it would be a better option.

I was excited with new benefit of oura on amex. But after reading details, it's just another disappointment like Sax or that cycle credit. I think I'll buy it and then trade it for Samsung ring, no subscription needed there. Hopefully the difference to be paid doesn't become a lot.

I get a free one with my credit card and I won't even waste the time to order it. I don't understand why anyone wants this?

Monthly subscription fee for this is hilarious. Every product wants that MRR now.

Wondering if this can be a money maker? I can get 4 of these for $50 each with Amex credits, and I'm still skeptical it would be worth the effort to buy and sell at profit.

Hmmm, these are FSA eligible? That's interesting. Looks like they're going for over $200 on eBay. Might have to pull the trigger on them now.
Damn bro, you have four platinum cards? I'm ordering one with my platinum and selling it. Ebay is going to be flooded soon

Yeah. I'm playing on easy mode though (IYKYK).

I like selling on FBMP. Less fees and lower risk of shenanigans.

Debated getting this, ended up getting the Samsung ring because I detest monthly subscriptions.

It's $5/mo if you pay for the year, which is hardly exorbitant. Sure, I hate subscriptions, too, unless they provide a valuable service for minimal cost. Unlike most of them.

In for one, we'll see how long the battery lasts, based on all the complaints I decided to spring for the 3 year warranty extension

I have had my Ring 4 for about 6months. For most part I like it. Had to turn off subscription to cut back spending and as soon as I did I found the ring is pretty useless. Doesn't tell you how long you slept or when you fell asleep or woke up. It just tells you a score. No other data is given to you as you're locked out. I only cared to know how many hours I slept and time in diff sleep stages that is free with Apple Watch (as well as my old Fitbit HR). But I don't like sleeping with it. I feel like sleep tracking should be free but other stuff I understand a fee.
