Can user referral tracker ID's be removed from shared deal links

Can we remove the tracker id's being stamped onto deals I share with people I know. I get that privacy hating sites like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc. add on tracker id's to all their links now, but it sucks that slickdeals is doing it now. First I don't want my friends to think I'm tracking them, because it's obvious there's an ID tacked on.

I also see you're on version 2.0 of the unique tracker ID.

The worst part is the security issue you're creating. I'm an early slickdeals user so my tracker ID is really low, so I know it's probably based on my account age. That's easy but lazy security and programming. And if I ever share a link on some public forum it will be really easy to line up my user ID with the "member since" info that shows up, especially if I comment or create a thread.

And no, the answer is not to obfuscate my user ID, it's to stop tracking us, especially by making us the drug mule that spreads our own security gap.

Also, when I share something like a YouTube link, I scrub the tracker from the link before sending it to someone

You should be able to work around this by stripping out the ID, you would just have to put a random string in its place or the link won't work. We will look into this further. Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, that's the solution I've been using, just using random numbers

I'd rather just not have to do it
