If you have the solar panel still I recommend installing it. The solar panel doubles as a light sensor - so you can set a light level threshold to auto close the blinds when it gets to dark in the evening and auto open in the morning. Handy for when the seasons change.

I have some. They surprisingly work great. I never installed the solar panels. Just usb-c charge every 6mo. Opens the blinds in am and closes at set time pm. Or control from app.

I get it but I don't want them opening at sunrise every day and it's easy to change the schedule with the app.

I have these and they're great but the app is garbage. I wonder if the hub helps?

I have a handful of these and they had issues when I used them with Switchbot Hub Mini. I had to setup two schedules 5 minutes apart in order to have higher chance of the blinds closing.

I'd say they would fail to close 20% of the time.

However, I ended up getting another combo that included the Switchbot Hub 2, and they work without issues now.

Hm seems like there is a HomeAssistant integration: https://www.home-assistant.io/int...switchbot/ Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't want to have another app on my phone. But since this is Bluetooth based I'm a bit worried about range to the HA hub.

I have home assistant on a small raspberry pi box. I purchased an external long range Bluetooth dongle (Sena USB Bluetooth Adapter 300m Working Dist, UD100-G03) so that it could successfully connect to my blinds.

Dang, would LOVE to have these but unfortunately all my window coverings are the pull string kind, not the rotating rod type that these work with. Bummer as this is a great price!

Yes, it works fine for me with ESPHome Bluetooth Proxy Sensors in the same rooms. Just a couple of second delay between a command and the blinds moving. I also have 3 Soma Tilts, and they are far less reliable than the Switchbot.

Thanks. I'm new to bluetooth devices like this. Do I really need a bluetooth proxy sensor in each room or is the signal strong enough to go through a few walls?

I have a hard-to-reach set of blinds in a stairwell, and this has been running great and pretty much flawlessly for around a year.

I added the curtain one for a blackout panel curtain in our home office this summer, and that one seems to be going strong as well.

I had my doubts due to the nature of small moving parts, but so far so good.

I have the same setup for a bluetooth proxy. Is it worth to the get the bundle with the hub for matter integration with all devices? I don't have a matter hub/usb
