Even with this sale, it's too expensive for what it is. Current prices are nuts.

Deals aren't based on what was, but what is. I have to eat, do I stop buying food because the same items cost me $65 now that were $45 4 years ago? If you need it, you need it so you look for the best deal available currently.

I buy these on Black Friday every few years. Although some will say that the battery cannot be replaced, I always found it easy to do just that--the cells last about 3-4 years and cost around 30-40 shipped to replace with new.

This size is PERFECT if you have a pc or nas and a power generator--keeps me from losing data between the time the power goes out and the generator kicks in :thumbs-up:

Where do you get the replacement cells from? TIA

Amazon or eBay. I replaced mine with lithium iron phosphate and those can last 10 years.

I recall reading that one should NOT do that since the cell chemistry is different and you run the risk of causing a fire or damaging the lithium iron phosphate battery using it in a UPS designed for lead acid cells. Did you follow some sort of guide to make sure it was safe?

You are right to be cautious but I followed this thread on reddit. Lots of good advice there. https://www.reddit.com/r/batteries/s/PHAkuab9MJ
Also, LiFePo4 batteries are considered to be fire safe because they have a very stable chemistry and a very low rate of thermal runaway.
