Only if you didn't need the PS+ membership to play this game I would have bitten. Can't understand why in 2025, you have to pay to play multi-player when free-to-play games like Fortnite & others are just free to play online without a PS+ membership.

Sadly, Helldivers 2 requires PS+ since everything is online. There isn't an offline mode. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game with the right set of people/friends, but it would be a rough game to play only solo.

No campaign. It's all PVE. You could solo missions but it's more fun in squads. This game is all about the vibes and role-playing space racists. You need a bit of a sense of humor and not be turned off by a lot of dying. Accidental friendly fire and TK is common, as are apologies when it happens. Just laugh it off and move on.

100% worth it. I bought this on a whim last year and it's been the funnest multiplayer shooter I've ever played. I'm not really into online shooters, but just the co op nature of this game makes it quite addicting. It's all about working together and completing missions rather than killing each other like every other shooter. I'm about 340 hours into it and still play it at least a few times a week.

I'm into single player campaign games but this game won me over. It's my most played game of 2025. The unpredictable nature of the game with respect to the environment, enemies, and teammates makes it fun and challenging. You don't need to know whom you are playing with as the game is up to 4 random people trying to complete missions together and then you can part ways and join other random people for another mission. You can try to solo missions but it won't be as fun and will be extremely difficult on higher difficulty levels. But again you will have more fun playing with others as each player can bring something different in terms of play style, equipment which they can share with you, and skill level. I should also note any loot picked up by teammates is shared with everyone else, it doesn't matter who finds or carries it, it's all shared equally. So playing with others is a much more efficient and quicker way to gain resources during a mission.

I actually connected a keyboard to my PS5 because of this game so I can communicate with teammates easier. The amount of entertainment you'll get out of this game will easily surpass $30, it's a must play game.
