yeah the only thing you give up compared to a lot of the other options is a dimmer screen. Dealbreaker for some, but otherwise a great laptop.
Agreed 100%. Personally I would rather have the Legion 5060 for around a grand with OLED over this TUF, but I think the trade off is really solid on a "no wrong answer" kind of thing lol. Like the 5070 is more performant, but the Legion has a insane display and better build quality than the TUF. BUT the TUF has almost a hundred bucks in extra ram I would be springing for regardless... lol
>FHD screen, non OLED
>Nothing really breaking the mold here
How is this upvoted so much? Brand loyalty? There's been better posts from lenovo's website lately. And Acer. This is not a good deal at all. I have a 1080P screen on my laptop from 2019 that I'm looking to replace.

But I believe all these 2025 gaming laptops have some sort of drawbacks. Non OLED and fhd is about right.
I'd encourage you to see what it does right too to justify the price point. 1700 MSRP is a joke. But 1200 is a great deal for this. Correct me but this has advanced Optimus, g sync, full wattage CPU and GPU, no throttling, 10hr battery life, 32gb ram.
There also good deals on 5070ti laptop that have the OLED for and 1500 but your going to compromise on battery, size, weight, and price

That one is a far better deal and can be brought to 1250 through paypal cashback shenanigans. This is not a good deal at all.
AMD seems to not be as good in the mobile processor market as Intel. It's strange because my desktop is 100% AMD and no Intel or NoVideo. I don't understand why AMD hasn't made reasonable laptops with the 8060S in it - integrated GPU with the power of a 4070.

I mean if you are going to bring up Paypal shenanigans, no reason that wouldn't also apply to this one right? In which case the gap is still massive. Also Acer build quality even in a higher end unit is bad compared to a ASUS TUF.
And AMD has made great laptops with the Strix Halo iGPU, but it's insanely costly to produce so will always be priced similar or higher than a gaming laptop with a dgpu.
