a) You have to explicitly chose the credit card type (MC/VC/DC/AM). There are a lot of frameworks that will look at the one form element that you type the Credit card and within the 5-6th digit of typing will automatically determine if it is a AMEX (3xxx) Visa (4xxx), Mastercard (5xxx), Discover (6xxx) etc. So I am guessing that they are using what is now called "iFrame" or its secure form equivalent so that that section of the page is effectively embedding a secure page from another site (Cybersource) so that the main website does not need to follow or get audited for what is called PCI Compliance. PCI Audit is expensive and to comply with that there are lot of checks you need to go through and provide multiple levels of encryption for CC and other tender data esp with the version 4 and above.
b) By using an iFrame as long as Cybersource(CYS) is PCI compliant which it is as it is a Visa company, geappliances.com does not need to worry about PCI compliance as the embedded frame is not from the site and hence cannot "grab" the info. This makes as a end customer deal with the crap of Cybersource not having the JS framework.
c) Another bug they had was when I entered the credit card, exp dt, cvn etc. it was saying "Incorrect info, please correct it" when it was 100% accurate. Then I found the bug. I have to type in the card number in 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 block rather 16 number string. So "9999 9999 9999 9999" instead of "9999999999999999". Really CYS?
Post Order Placement
While onscreen confirmation was there and i printed it, there was a Order Reference-not an order number. I did not get the Order Acknowledgement email for the next 60 mins or so. But in order tracking I was not able to track with the Reference number, email combo which is standard for any website. Remember guest checkouts are one time checkouts without an online account being created. I used the order number that came in the ACK but still am unable to track it.
Then after 2.5 hours I got an order confirmation email stating that they are preparing the item for shipping. I am guessing unless I get an email update I cannot know where my order/status is? Holy Sh**te!
We have crossed 1/4 of the 21st century while some basic features that we were used to since the early dot com era are missing.

Geappliances doesn't seem to allow any coupon code. This is only work the risk if free shipping goes through.. otherwise, youre paying $16 usd for 128 loads (1.56oz medium) which is w/e.
