This 14 inch four way cross lug wrench is a compact emergency tool for cars that need common lug sizes, including 11 16, 3 4, 13 16, and 7 8, which lines up with 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, and 22mm. It fits newer cars that no longer include a factory L wrench, and the 13 16 size covers many Japanese vehicles. The short length limits leverage, so breaking loose stubborn lug nuts can take extra force or even stepping on it. The thin tubes can also dig into your hands, and a torque wrench is still the safer way to finish tightening.

This is only 14". It will not provide enough leverage for the average slickdealer to remove lug nuts.
Plenty of torque. My cars only require ~80 ft lbs. Before I started using a torque wrench to check, I'd bet I torqued 'em down to 120 ft lbs easy.

These are good if you no longer have the L wrench that came with the car. I know they've been getting rid of spare tires and hardware in new cars so good for newer cars, however, an aftermarket L wrench for lugs provides so much more leverage than this ever could. When tightening my lugs, I make it a habit to step on the L wrench to create enough torque. My lugs have gotten loose without stepping on the wrench in the past because the rust between the hub and rim breaks off during driving (I assume). Or you could also just get a torque wrench and tighten it to spec I guess.
Not trying to be rude, but if the lug nuts came loose without stepping on the wrench, you may need to work out more. I'm old enough that when I started driving, wrenches like the one in the post were all anyone who didn't have air tools used, and I never had a lug nut come loose after tightening by hand.

The lug nuts need to be retightened after about 50 miles; otherwise, they can become loose. This is not because you didn't tighten them enough. If you step on the wrench, you could overtighten the lug nuts and overstretch the wheel bolts. Yes, you can use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
That's a good point that it's possible to overtighten the nuts. I think it just depends on the type of wheel. I used to have alloys which never had this issue and I could easily tighten it with these 4-way wrenches without it ever becoming loose after 30,000 miles (should rotate tires more often). But the steelies tend to build up rust and sometimes it'll get rusted onto the hub. Might need to upgrade to alloys again at some point.

Unless somebody else like a tire shop over tightened them which is not far fetched. Happened to me too many times.

Yes this is too small. Just think of a ruler's length.

This has a 13/16 which is pretty much 21mm for many Japanese cars if that's your application
