I tried these in Guitar Center when I was shopping for a hi-hat stand and kick pedal for my TD17KVX2, and unless you have a need for the quietness of this kit, I wouldn't recommended it in general. There's a trade-off in terms of feel when hitting these silent pads and cymbals compared to the regular e-kits. If you live near a Guitar Center, I'd recommend calling to see if they have one for trying and try it there if they do before buying it.

Decent deal. They normally go for about $1600, not the $1980 they claim. This is the lowest I've seen then so far.

Is this worth it over the more expensive deal from the other week? Trying to get into drumming but don't want to spend another 2k down the line to upgrade in case this starts to feel like it's not enough

Decent price. I remember buying my TD27 "digital upgrade" kit for like $1800 (module, digital snare, & digital ride) to upgrade my old TD-11 but then it sent me down a rabbits hole and I ended up replacing the rest of my pads for PADxxx's. That was a very expensive year.
