Says who? How would it even know what you're buying? The discount happens before the money even leaves your account. Where does it says it's disabled for gift cards?

Just think how a disabled payment form looks when can't be selected, the bullet is grayed. Probably hard to imagine so here you go.

I usually don't reply to my downvoters, but I feel sorry for the person who doesn't know that $20 is 20% of $100. It's literally basic math.
I dont think you realize why you are being downvoted...

had not thought of that, just might work since target can't technically disable the debit card just because you have an offer activated.

Search Target in the search bar in the app. That worked for me.

no I've used the card many times to trigger the offer in the app; it's works.

I just had doubt because it's a gift card and target it blocking it and would they do the same in the store.

if you buy a toaster at target store using the card, it will work, it will trigger the discount; for sure. unless something has changed from a few years ago.

Too bad not ANY purchase, it's disabled for gift cards.
Buy something and return it and ask for refund in target gift card. they will happily oblige
