Important to note that Prime Video limits Streaming channels to HD quality, so if you subscribe through Prime you won't be able to stream AppleTV content in 4K or anything.

There's also some content on AppleTV that doesn't show up in Prime Video at all, like bonus vignettes, etc.

Just figured I'd mention it since some of that stuff may matter to some people.

I just tried canceling my service on hopes of maybe seeing this deal and I had an offer for my next two months at $5.99 on the cancellation screen so I grabbed that instead.

First time I've seen retention offers for Apple services on the subscriptions page

The only issue with the retention offer is that you cannot use family sharing at the discounted price.

Appears to be available to at least some current subscribers. I have a current annual subscription ending in January. Apple displayed this offer when I was not logged in. I clicked to accept it, then logged in, and then it displayed a splash screen telling me that the offer will kick in automatically when my current annual subscription expires.

I canceled my subscription before this offer and it ends on dec 7th. Got the pop up and tried to accept and it said I already have a subscription, so it did not work.

After signing up I received a message saying "Would you like to turn off monthly renewal emails so you don't get so many emails from us?" Like Apple cares about my email inbox...
It sounded more like "Hey, we don't have to remind you of the service you're paying for."
