Costco Warehouse search shows that this was $49.97 at Costco near me, but I never saw it even though I frequently go down the small appliance aisle.

Reviews are mixed it seems. But for $100, seems worth it. I own the cheaper model GE Opal so I imagine it's similar to this one. Paid over $250. Use distilled or filter fridge water and haven't had any major issues. Just run a clean cycle regularly. But I would not recommend it if you plan to use tap water as it'll break quickly.

I saw one floor model priced like that a few weeks ago but looked beat up. I passed by because I bought it for $200 and returned it because it sounded like a car with a bad serpentine belt and would squeal in the middle of the night

Great deal for $99. Have one of these and as long as you clean it with vinegar once a month it will work just fine... And it's Costco so if it dies you just take it back...

I'm curious on the return policy from Costco. Do you need to keep the box? I've been saving the boxes on items like this incase they do break and I need to return it. I ordered this, but I'm tired of saving empty boxes, even though some I'm able to store flat.

You can return items at Costco without the box.

It shows $50 nearby. I could see using this during holidays, parties or when you need a lot of ice. Too many reviews with problems if you leave it plugged in with water. We have the smaller 26 lb model and use it for camping trips. It's great for 3-4 days at a time, emptying water in between.
