Have this watch - amazingly accurate and comfortable. With a larger wrist, I still prefer the 45mm.

There are so many garmin watches. Is there a comprehensive guide on all the models? I bought Epix Pro 2 and now my partner wants a Garmin watch too, but they can't decide since there so many options.

I have this watch after upgrading from the first generation Instinct. Compared to other Garmins I would say this watch leans more to the side of rugged/adventure in terms of function and aesthetics, as opposed to the Fenix which is more of an Apple smartwatch competitor. Personally the Instinct is the right fit for me, it's better in terms of battery life (especially if you get the MIPS version instead of Amoled) and I don't have to worry about it getting damaged when I'm cycling. Also a little cheaper.

get ready to spend allot of time. There is a compare feature on the website:

https://www.garmin.com/en-US/c/we...rtwatches/

somethings are harder to dig out, like updated vs older operating systems and sensors. I guess youtube is your friend.

Also, lots of opinions on MIP vs OLED.

True. I'm happy with. The battery lasts more than 30 days, but don't expect bells and whistles.

I have epix pro 2 for 2 years, had instinct 2 before, if you don't care color display or maps (maps are almost useless imo) I'd absolutely take instinct. Myne with oled don't have that good battery life, while this will last a month easily

Is this worth the upgrade from the instinct 2?

I love my first gen instinct. I tell my family. I can get this gifted anytime and be happy. My plan has been to get the solar, but the first gen keeps on ticking. This is a good watch for people who do not need all the pretty colors and just want to get down to business. I use it in the office but mainly outdoors. Best smartwatch I have used.

The solar is more efficient (if you have a solar model), the screen has higher contrast, and the flashlight is very handy.

This is excellent sport watch if you don't need coloured display.
Does anyone think that the watch might be cheaper on Black Friday?

My first Gen also won't die, and it's too good to upgrade until it does. Yeah I want a flashlight and few other relatively minor features, but not for $300. 4 years old non-solar and still only charging once a week or two.
