To be fair, 250ftlb is a considerable amount in itself and I'm not sure any 3/8", let alone a flex ratchet, is the best choice for a grown man to basically hang from doing heavy duty work. Thats definitely 1/2" ratchet, probably not flex, or long handle torque wrench territory.

If your local Ace Hardware stocks this ratchet, it would be $11 with the 50% off coupon this Black Friday. https://www.acehardware.com/depar...ts/2435238

I knew about this because I bought the 1/2" flex model (CRW14) last year.

This Crescent ratchet is decent for $15. It has a ton of slop in the handle. It has a fairly thick and fat head (sure, go ahead) so tight spaces might be a bit more problematic. As long as you aren't trying to apply heavy torque loads (the one in the video snapped at 252.8lbft) it should be ok.

Great deal. Looking for my first flex rachet and this is it. Crescent also offers lifetime warranty.

Crescent/Duratech are basically the same ratchet. Lowest rated in the test.

I agree if you break this thing applying 250 ft lbs your using the wrong tool for the job

Eventually wanted to pick this type of ratchet up...I wonder if there are other alternatives out there...was thinking Gearwrench. Same parent company - Apex Tool Group.

Precisely! My biggest gripe with these is that there is so much slop in the handle that the tooth count on the ratcheting mechanism is worthless.
Might as well just spend the extra money and get the ICON from harbor freight.
